There's more than one way to skin a cat. And I happen to know that's factually true.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

So, 24: I'm really enjoying the complete hobbitiness of Sean Astin's bureaucrat. I'm not sure I buy him in a position of authority, but really enjoying his presence all the same. Since the attack at the airport was a diversion, any chance that we could have Samwise the Mole in there, and he helped CTU foil the terrorists to cement his position of trust ?

So, 5 hours in and Jack hasn't tortured anyone yet ? What's up with that? I figured he might be able to have a go at CTU!Mole-2006, but it looks like he's off the hook for the moment.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Do any LAistas recognise this? I'm not going to enter the competition or anything -- just curious.

Franken, I recently read some comments about the torture last year--it got quite a bit of press. I wonder if that means there'll be less of it this year?

Random facts about Jack Bauer.

Can someone please get a Random Facts thing going about Batman?

This is my cousin. I'm so...proud sounds like I had anything to do with it. But still. Excited. I like my family sometimes. It does good.

Art Crawl!!!

Hey! That is excellent. You have a family of many and varied accomplishments.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

I find the thing I'm liking most about 24 this time around is Chloe and the First Lady. They should get together and fight crime before this season is over.

Aren't they cool? I like to bask in the reflected glow sometimes.

I always wonder what gets someone into those places -- CDC appointments, MP, ambassador, anti-war protest lead...it's so much something I don't have. Sure, I'm lazy and unambitious, but I'm also much more about the little things. I love teaching people how to defend themselves, how to feel physically confident. One person at a time.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

Your cousin sounds amazingly talented and well rounded. Not just a prestigeous doctor, but also an artist and a mentor? Wow!

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

24: I like the first lady, but I'm not sure exactly what she hopes to accomplish, other than proving that she's not insane. CTU, at this point, has already made the connection between Palmer's assassination and the terrorist attack, and it didn't sound like she had any information beyond that.

But she doesn't know that. Her actions seem perfectly reasonable--I wonder what the writers are trying to accomplish. Probably to put her in jeopardy. I like her, though. She rocks. Her assistant seems familiar--where's she from?
