Zoe: Captain will come up with a plan. Kaylee: That's good. Right? Zoe: Possibly you're not recalling some of his previous plans.

"We have trust issues." Mylar

I am afraid of the Beyonce in the new Pink Panther movie. I've only seen her in a couple of things (the hip-hop Carmen on MTV and her turn in the Austin Powers) but that was enough to make me not enthused about her becoming the next Latifah. I don't know what she's doing in the movie, but she did not impress as a Pam Grier parody in the Austin Powers movie.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Oh, I hadn't heard about it before. Pushed back doesn't usually bode well.

I'm getting the pig!

Happy Birthday, msbelle!!

Hip Hip HOORAY for Happy Allyson!

Sad for The Bears but still proud of my Broncos and glad they don't have to go up against the Colts. The Steeler/Colt game almost killed me during the second half. My heart probably stopped three times. FUN!

I've probably pimped DHC Skincare here before but I love everything I've tried from them. My skin is like ita's with the tightness if I don't moisturize right away after washing and was also prone to nasty breakouts whenever I switched products on it. Except with DHC. Reasonably priced, too.

Now tagless for your comfort.

Holy crap -- in today's Homicide news, a baby Jake Gyllenhaal is playing Robin Williams's son. I'm assuming nepotism because the director of the episode is Stephen Gyllenhaal.

Man, I kept WONDERING why I recognized that kid!

If I want to become a cloud of bats, does each bat need a separate vaccination?

I'm giving it another ten minutes, so I can watch the whole 2 hours commercial-free. (Also, I'm not done making dinner yet.)

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Man, I kept WONDERING why I recognized that kid!

This is why I post. Really, it's a public service.

Just had the conversation with my mother that I wish I had had with my advisor last week, so am feeling better about my final grad school project.

Huh. I think I just helped my dad come up with a new idea on how to teach his 101 astronomy class. He's looking for new ways to teach it and was thinking about having them turn in their notes for portion of the grade. I suggested having them turn in a copy each week, which they'd get back at the end to use in the final. Of course, this could lead to manic brainless notetaking if they knew ahead of time. OTOH, in most of my classes, we did operate similarly (exams were open note, open book but they were a BITCH) so this might mean a hellish exam for him to write.

Anyway, it was fun brainstorming with him. He's rather depressed about the state of higher education right now and really looking for ways to really engage even his worst students. I get to hear about how he feels he's failed every exam period, and yet, having been his student, I know it is not him alone. He's got some shitty students too.
