The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Why does Apple support and repair suck so very very much?

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

Daisy, girl, why aren't you home and high on painkillers??

I am high on painkillers, just not at home. My boss probably wouldn't have given me a hard time, but there is so much to do. I have an event in the middle of Feb, and I need to make sure I have a place to hold it, we had a meeting, I have a class Sat. and only one of the 5 instructors I needed.

The surgery wasn't scheduled, but the dentist sent me to an oral surgeon right away. They put me under general, and when we were leaving I called work to tell them I would take a nap and go visit venues and be in later- I heard this 2nd hand this morning. Apparently my boss asked to talk to Mr. Jane and told him to make sure I went home.

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

Ai, DJ! You poor thing! Mr. Jane had best bundle you home and take good care of you.

Emergency wisdom tooth extraction? I can't decide whether this is worse than the usual process or a bit better, in that it gives you less time to worry over it before it happens.

Is there no one you can write notes and emails to and pass some of these planny tasks on to?

ACK! You poor thing. Wisdom teeth removal isn't fun, and if it was an emergency one, that could have only been less fun. And you are at work! Go home!

I got a reminder message on my answering machine. It sounded alarmingly like they have my salon appointment as tomorrow, not saturday. Which I cannot make. Hopefully, the sound quality is just bad. Cause otherwise, I doubt I can get another appointment until next weekend and my hair is driving me BATSHIT.

That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

Oh, Daisy! I'm glad Mr. Jane took care of you yesterday. Also glad you have good drugs.

I understand about the work deadline thing (she says looking at the clock on her desk), but be sure not to overdo.

I'm bored again. And the first stanza of "American Girl" by Melissa Etheridge isn't helping.

Oh, my local public radio/indy rock/folk station actually mentioned the O.C. (taping, right now) because I think some local group was getting exposure on it. Sort of weird, because you sorta don't think of public radio and pop culture in the same sentence (I say this as a product of public radio exposure.) But, cute.

Also, since I'm watching teevee, CSI: they've gotten rid of the stupid mustache, now someone needs to cut his hair!

hip deep in pie

Well, poop. I found out today that I didn't get an interview for a job I had good hopes for. It was within my union so I should have had first crack at the interview, but they worded the job ad with very specific qualifications, as if, oh, they were trying to exclude internal candidates. So I got screened out even before the interview. Tomorrow I think I might try to find out where in the process I got screened and see if it's worth filing a grievance with the union.

That's too bad, Sue. I hope you find something that tickles in a nice work way.

Anyone else think this is a goofy movement (no pun!): [link]

I mean, I think an equal number of toilets to toilets+urinals seems like a reasonable solution, but extra PLUS legislation? Over toilets? Where we pee? Give me a break. I'm all for equality, but good grief. Plus, the argument that women are more likely to be toting children as an argument kind of irks me. (my dad was as likely as my mom to take me to the "potty.")
