And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Which means that there will be a Whole Foods, a Trader Joe's and a Farmer's Market all within several hundred feet of each other.

Niiiiiiiiiiiiice.

Now we just need a WF and a TJ's in downtown Brooklyn, and I'll be all set.

There's a WF coming to Brooklyn, but it looks like it's closer to your old apartment than your current one. [link]

Edit: Looking on Google Maps, it's actually not too far from you!

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

Where in Union Square is the TJs going?

Dude, we need a WF or TJ in Queens. Perhaps nearish the Target or Kaufmann Studios.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

NYistas, the Times reports that Trader Joe's is opening at Union Square in 3 months. (I've never had a Trader Joe's. But people seem to love them).

Its (and its wineshop) is on the ground floor of NYU's Palladium dorm (which should be terribly efficient and a tiny bit ironic).

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

There actually is a new grocery store being built near Kaufman, and I have high hopes that it will be snooty in some regard.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

TJs isn't snooty.

If I can't get my eyes to open more than half way, I don't have to go to work, do I?

TJ's is upscale/yuppy-ish, no? For the fancy people?

You can see I've never been to one.

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

TJs is cheap good-quality food. Often gourmet, but not exclusively. A great place to get wine and other alcohol, pasta, and frozen foods. And snacks!

They remind me of the old coops when I was growing up. Though slightly less crunchy. And laid out so fucking poorly. Though I think that may just be the two in this city. Bad enough I haven't been back to either.
