Heh, they finally tell me when the magazine comes out, not weeks afterwards!

The newest CBG, #1616, has another column by me, this time on OEL manga

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

I read "detail oriented" and I realize that is not me. I've got to work on changing that, I'm not sure how.
Lots and lots of lists and notes works for me. I write down everything because I fail to remember anything otherwise.

Actually a friend is reading a book on how to do this in business and it looked interesting when I was flipping through it. Let me find the name for you.

It took the longest time for me to connect House's Hugh Laurie with the characters in Black Adder. For about a week I was all, "No, really? It can't be . . . really?"

Word! Then House does accents, and I'm thinking, "Good Lord, an accent in an accent." Wasn't there something about Stephen Fry guest-starring on House sometime?

Also, our housemate talked over the preview for next week. Could somone summarize?

You know what, I think everything says detail-oriented these days, and everyone says they are in an interview or cover letter. It's become one of those catch-phrases for "not a fuck-up." I mean, can you imagine the reaction if you said "I'm not really very detail oriented"?

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Connie, all I got out of the preview is that it'll be shocking. We won't believe it. Whatever it is.

Oh, and House is becoming a junkie, but I thought we already covered that.

Right, because what you're supposed to say is "I'm a big picture kind of person"

Yeah, no news about House there.

I get the Wilson/House OTP now, though.

Hey. New board.

All this House talk makes me happy because GG and I discovered that it is a great show for us. We're 5 (or 6?) episodes into the first season, and loving it.

Now I REALLY want somebody to write that Buffy/House fic with Dawn at the hospital that somebody (DCJ?) suggested, though.

Also, hi! I'm still reading! Just not writing! Need my new computer.

For another view of the resume question, I just got this from my sis (hivebrain!):

So one of my busy work jobs that I’m doing today is sending out rejection letters to people that applied for the Marketing Manager position. The title makes the job sound really important, but it's more to sell the title since they can’t compensate anyone in a reasonable way. I should be a rejection manager dammit. They can at least give me that for $9 an hour. ANYWAY- the point is….i’m starting to feel really good about my own resume after reading through the absolutely RETARDED ONES that people actually send in. Seriously, it makes me sad. One that I just read had an “Extracurricular Activities” section before ANY kind of education or anything and it said:

“Extracurricular Activites: Chatting, writing, Watching TV, and cooking/eating, and bead work”

WHAT?!??!!?! Who writes that on their freaking resume??????
