[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

there will be 20 (or so) concepts

And you don't get to wriggle on "or so"! We're totally watching you.

I think I'm a little goofy this morning. I just wrote this definition for the word "Revise."

Verb: “to ‘re-see’ and ‘re-compose’ (as opposed to decompose) in order to add meaning.”

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe

Radical acceptance has helped me be a bit more like Joe. I usually have a little panic, then remember that I can radically accept it and deal with the consequences as they come. It's helped a lot.

I'm still unclear on the concept of radical acceptance, but it really interests me. Is it (basically) just deciding that no matter how much stress a given situation is causing you, you tell yourself (in kinder terms) "Suck it up and DEAL!"?

ION, I either forgot to put on my watch this morning, or it fell off somewhere. I feel naked without a watch.

Kind of, but yeah, kinder. It involves validating your feelings around a situation and accepting it as is. The thought is, once you accept the situation, from deep within yourself, you'll be better prepared to actually handle/change the situation. I just wrote a pretty good piece on radical acceptance (and it's pretty damn funny in parts), if you'd like to read it. I think it gives a pretty good understanding of what it is.

I definitely would!

See, I just have a hard time with the idea of making myself accept a shitty situation. I'm stubborn and willful like that. (And also, unsurprisingly, get stressed more often than I'd like.) So the concept of radical acceptance really interests me, but I don't understand *how* to actually make myself *do* it.

It's a tough one to accept, if you will. But, it's really changed my life.

I don't have the file here at work, but I'll send it to you when I get home. Hopefully, if nothing else, it'll give you a good laugh.

Also, the important thing to note is accepting a situation does not mean you're declaring it good. It's still a shitty situation. You just are accepting that it's a shitty situation and you can either not do anything about it at this time, or you can do something about it.

The method I use to accept my problems is to blame myself. You see, it's my fault anyway because I suck, so I should just lump it. The idea of positively accepting a situation just boggles me.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

Hey Trudes, that new year you ordered for me must be on slow boat delivery...

Unfortunately, I sent it by New York City transit.
