Pamela and I had a lovely day. I am content and picking her brain about Portland. Tis wonderful.
Yay!
I just got back from David's 10th birthday party. He seemed to like his presents. Hec, I ended up buying that book about Hook as a child that I think you linked to recently, for him along with a nicely illustrated Peter Pan. I also bought him a pirate ship and the
Kim Possible: So the Drama
DVD. It was a good night, and I managed to not dwell on the fact that I won't likely get to go to many birthday parties for my nephews in the future.
Cass, before you move can I come visit again?
Just had my performance review. I have successfully got my manager to change the wording about maintaining my patience, and possibly about being aloof. (I did tell my supervisor about that one, and about aiming this year for 'haughty'. He was encouraging, and added that he always thought anyone with a problem with slightly eccentric people had their own issues about being comfortable with themselves. I told him I was impressed he only thought I was slightly eccentric. Something else to aim for this year!)
The good news is that apparently my clients are unanimously very happy with my work. Go me! Especially since I wasn't even doing client work the year before.
2005 was always going to be about transitions, so many things had changed. I'm very happy with how it's gone. I don't think I could have hoped to be in a better position than I've reached by now. (Well, a girlfriend would be nice. Where's that shiftless Wally?)
Lisah, one of the best gifts I ever received was when the people in my church signed up and brought dinner every night for a week. Do you think the people who come to the party could do that? Though maybe two weeks would be better with twins.
As for what they need, a double stroller narrow enough to get through store doors would be top of my list. The wide ones look cool, but I've heard complaints about getting around with them.
Ever pour a bunch of salsa from a jar you have not closely examined onto a snack, then think, "I hope this isn't Hot," then see that it is, indeed, Hot? I did. Just now.
But hey, I can breathe better now.
Aimee, hope you get over this quickly.
I think post-partum makeovers should be a routine part of childbearing and covered by insurance. Drat it.
ha ha. So true. The real problem is that the post-partum figure is totally different from the pre-partum one. (And my figure now is different than it was after Frances, too.) I'd say 2/3 to 3/4 of my old clothes don't fit right, but I'm still wearing them.
Burrell, that's my issue, too. I fit into a lot of my pre-Emeline clothes, but they don't fit as well on this body as they did my other one.
And short of actually exercising and eating better, they aren't going to.
Don't push the
red button
