Question: Will hiding in a cavern with stockpiled chocolate goods be any part of this plan?

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

all of the overdue library books are just sitting on my desk for the whole world to see and know that I fucked up

vw, you need to remember that the whole world doesn't care about library books (unless you have rogue librarians stalking the hall), and unless I'm missing something--how can they tell they're overdue?

'Cause they're interlibrary loans and have the due date in VERY BIG FONT on the front.

Apparently Sabrina took them out of the desk drawer last week, because she noticed that they were all overdue, and seems she told several people to make sure I'd take care of it.

If overdue books are the worst thing that people think about you, you're doing okay. I wish I could say that about myself.

Like Nora said -- it's something you care about. Don't worry about projecting that onto everyone else.

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

I just view overdue library books as an opportunity to donate to the library.

If I only had a brain...

ita, how did the krav people react to your PT's call?

oh joy! Oh Rapture ! I have a brain!

I work at a libray. We only care about overdue books if a) you refuse to pay the fine b) lots of people are waiting for them.

signed,

spends 5 out of 7 days at the library and always has overdue books.

One of them is microfiche. As soon as we get a copy card, I'm gonna go print that out. Then, tomorrow I'll meet with the leads on the project and see what needs to be copied. I'll be in longer tomorrow, so I'll be able to sit at the copy machine and take care of what we need.

These little things are how I know I'm really not doing well. I'd been much better about dealing with this kind of stuff. I'll get better again, but cleaning up the mess is always a challenge when you're not at top speed.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

My sympathies, vw, because this:

cleaning up the mess is always a challenge when you're not at top speed.

is absolutely true. I know we can't return your books for you, but if there's anything else we can do (venting, handholding, threatening goons....) just ask.

Ok. Just scheduled the meeting with the project lead to go over the books. So, that's set up for tomorrow. Little steps in the right direction.

I'm off to copy microfilm and fiche. Wish I would have brought my iPod!
