Oh, smacked in the noggin with a 2x4 wrapped in velvet. Yeah, that's what it felt like.

Spike's Bitches 28: For the Safety of Puppies...and Christmas!

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

I'd be very suspicious about the not coming through on the grade change, too, because I'd think it had something to do with stuff going on behind the scenes. Like, how do they benefit by keeping you under-promoted? Perhaps they know if they raise your grade they'll have to come up with a LOT more $$$ or benefits.

It just seems very underhanded in many ways, the least of which no one bothered to tell you

Is there someone you can lodge a complaint with, or something? Or would that be counter-productive? I think you'd have a leg to stand on WRT the non-notification as well as the fact you were told that this would happen and you feell that you deserve an explanation why it didn't?

Our wings are not tired.

I sucked the thread to read off line because, as we all know, dial-up sucks.

I am at my sister’s house in Otter Lake New York. It thawed enough that I could open the sliding glass doors to the deck. I thought I would step out on the deck to take a quick picture. Nope, too cold, must wait until I am bundled. Can’t do it.

Also since there is a bit of a thaw huge chunks of ice keep falling from the roof. Crash! Quite startling when it happens.

Yay CV!!

{{j}} Enough already 2005! I’m so sorry for the added drama.

{{DCJ}} I’m sorry things became so unreal on the employment front. I hope the next employer is of the sane, and not soul sucking. I’m glad you have Andi with you now. Loving companionship does indeed make the good times better and the bad times more bearable.

((connie neil and hubby}} What a difficult transition for you both. Much coping ~ma to you.

Good thoughts and a prayer for Spidra’s mom. Ouch.

Yay for being carless! I was carless for several years in Fort Lauderdale and loved it. I could easily bike to work and shopping, but the school runs require a car. I enjoy driving well enough, but I would like to bike more often. Must work on coordinating that plan.

In mememe news, the family went skiing yesterday. We took a lesson together. Poor Brendon had these long skis because of his height and it took him about a half hour to get up the hill with the rope tow because he kept getting his skis tangled and falling down. He never did actually ski down the hill. He gave up and walked down. Bobby went up on the rope tow all right and managed to get down the hill, but it took a good long time with the sitting down and thinking about it between falls. DH also had the hard to manage long skis and he did an impressive split ripping his jeans in 4 places at once. Yay for long underwear. For the first time evah in my life with jocks I ruled the slopes. It took a bit to get my balance, but I did manage a couple of slow, but tumble free runs. Yay me!

That sounds most confusing and rotten MG. Grrrrr

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I wish I were skiing.

My office is half-empty, and those of us who are here have nothing to do. I should turn the radio up really loud.

"Fuck Western ideologically-motivated gender identification!" Sulu gasped, and came.

Random Question:

What Is "air-popped" popcorn? Does this mean popcorn one has cooked in a pan, using a bit of olive oil? Or is it some other method I know not?

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

No, Fay. They have machines that'll pop corn without any added fat.

"Fuck Western ideologically-motivated gender identification!" Sulu gasped, and came.

Well, shit. I was afraid of that.

pouts

FINE. Stupid first-world gadgetry. I shall continue to make popcorn Chez Jay in Egypt using a splash of virgin olive oil in a pan, albeit a trifle more guiltily. It's still healthier than crisps.

...it is healthier than crisps, isn't it? And things like that? Or have I been fooling myself?

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

Fay, yes, by far.

olive oil is one of the "good fats", cholesterol- and heart-wise. Monounsaturated and all that.

Coding and Sleeping

They still make air poppers? I thought that the microwave had crushed all inferior popcorn popping machines.
