Goodbye and Good Riddance 2005: the Year of the Penguin

Every year we watch the Charlie Brown special, do the Snoopy dance, wish everybody a Merry Christmukkah, and thank our Secret Santas in the good riddance thread. Which is this one, in case you were wondering. Oh, and 2005? Don't think we've forgotten about you.

brillig

Each purchase is symbolic and represents a contribution to the entire mission of Heifer International.

Well, heck. So buying a bunch of trees for druidic friends wouldn't be as cool as I thought it would be.

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

Well, yeah...

I wasn't being critical; I was just responding to Deb's post which implied otherwise.

It really doesn't matter. It's just an opinion. Don't worry about it. Not worth the hassle.

I wasn't being critical; I was just responding to Deb's post which implied otherwise.

No, no. Ours was definitely chickens, and they definitely mentioned eggs. I even remember the photo of the kid holding a really pissed-off looking chicken. Not symbolism: eggs,

Just checked with Nic, and he doesn't remember it being heifer.org; he thinks it was another organisation. We were fostering two kids through Plan International at the time, and I seem to remember them partnering with whoever it was.

Huh. Now I'm curious, but I'm damned if I want to look back through tax records and try to find it.

And the core remains unchanged: I still want a goat.

Herding cats for fun

Heifer is a great project. Goats are especially beneficial for women and children in, shall we say, countries lacking in a Sensitive New Age Guy ethos. They get a share of protein from the milk. Giving a goat also has public health implications, for a woman who owns a goat might not need to work as a prostitute.

If I only had a brain...

Anbody else going to a bad goat-prostitution place?

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Is there thrubbing involved?

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Bad Goat Prostitutes Gone Wild ?

If I want to become a cloud of bats, does each bat need a separate vaccination?

Anbody else going to a bad goat-prostitution place?

Well I am now.
