Blessings for this year:
- Nobody in my family died.
- Nobody in my family got laid off.
- We still live in Northern California
- I got a shiny new job at a shiny new company
Relative to most of the people in the world, we are unimaginably blessed.
HowEVER, the vampire ducks have been out in force. One kid has been having adolescent weep-fits over homework; the other has simply not been handing his homework in; on investigation, it turned out that he was being bullied at his school. The chronic migraines remain chronic. There are some new-job bumps I haven't navigated gracefully.
So, I wish for 2006 what I always wish: some serenity, some space to relax in, and (as ever) more writing accomplished.
Does it go bad?
Not that quickly, I don't think.
My wish for 2006 is that it would hurry up and get here. Like, now. What does not kill me isn't making me stronger in this case, and I'm tired of being tired.
{{{juliana}}} I hope 2006 is good to you. You deserve a better year.
Bitters will last for ages. It's mostly alcohol anyway.

Especially the bitter that doesn't come in bottles.
There are recipes for every occasion, including brunch, so I can start the day right with pancakes and omeletes with liqour in them.
Cool! Nothing like liquor soaked pancakes for breakfast!
Juliana, I hope 2006 is an awesome year for you!
Nicole just made me all melty.
Because I said you're still getting more gifties from someone else, right? That kind of thing makes me all melty too. And I bet you're a Wickedly Incredible puddle of melty Suzi.
I now have three tantalizing varieties of rooibos tea, plus a jar of equally tantalizing body butter, and an awesome magnet that says "Well-Behaved Women Rarely Make History". It's perfect! Thank you so much.
Yay! I'm glad it got there ok, Kate. I had a nightmare that the snooty post office lady tossed the box out into the parking lot after I left. Phew!
Wishing a wonderful 2006 to all the Buffistas! Seriously.
I hope 2006 goes really well for you Juliana, 2005 was totally unfair to you.
