Wait, is this real-world child support, where the money goes to buy food for the kids, or MRA fantasyland child support where the women just buy Ferraris and cocaine? -Jessica

I went to see Goodnight and Good Luck last night at Arclight, and on my way out of the theatre noticed a big display of the costumes worn in Bareback Mountain. Included in the display was the "dancing shirt".

I laughed as people took photos because the while the cowboy hats on the mannequins were HUGE, the rest of the outfits were verra tiny, and it totally accentuated the actor physique of GREAT BIG HEADS and wee tiny bodies.

I did a msbelle today too. Except, more lying in bed reading, not tv. But now that I'm up and have gotten things done around the house, I realize the sun is setting and that is so freaking depressing. Gotta go out and do some errands. Gift shopping tomorrow. I need to find out if AVAM has a gift shop open again this year.

When is Brokeback supposed to open nationally, anyway?

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

Dumb cat: "Let me just fix this cowlick, okay? Now sit still.
Mouse: "Ohshitohshitohshitohshit."
Bwah!

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

Skipping all the disturbing rodent talk.

Possibly running and hiding from the disturbing rodent talk.

I've been reading about Tulane's recovery plan. Part of this is that they're combining Tulane College, Newcomb College, and the School of Engineering into one Undergraduate College. (They're also eliminating a huge part of the school of engineering -- looks like just Chemical Engineering and Biomedical Engineering are left.) I can see why they need to get rid of the Tulane/Newcomb designation -- it'll save a whole lot in administration -- but I'm still disappointed. (For those who don't know, Newcomb is the women's college of Tulane. Both Harvard/Radcliffe and Columbia/Barnard were modeled on the Tulane/Newcomb system.) There's a whole lot of Newcomb College and Tulane College tradition that they're getting rid of there.

I know, this is a tiny thing compared to everything else happening in New Orleans. But it's a thing on my mind right now.

Oh, that is sad.

oof, long day today. I got to the hotel in Phoenix just after a huge rush of people, so I didn't get checked in and in bed until close to 1:30 last night, then I got up and on the road for the two and a half hour two hour drive (this is me, after all) to Tucson. Much shopping with Mom has happened since then, including a trip to Target where I found one of those Isaac tulle skirts Betsy mentioned. I did some Christmas shopping too.

Now to nap.

yeah, I still have not left the big comfy chair. and I am still watching Ellens. Yes folks, I had 11 episodes on my DVR. But given that I've seen 7.5 and have done that in 5 hours is pretty good. Thing is I am getting hungry, so I might have to stand up.

Can't you get someone to bring you food to your chair, msbelle?

Always Anti-fascist!

I'm shocked at myself...so much killing and I haven't weighed in. I think Bunk on The Wire tried to kill a mouse with his police revolver once. He was very drunk and I don't think he got it.
