And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

LED/MP3 Christmas tree. (For next year, presumably.)

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

Merry Christmas, y'all. Had a good night last night - hung out with my college roommate, drank good champers, had good soup, and watched cheesy movies (there may have been singing along to Meet Me In St. Louis). Today, I have shot my friends' cat (they're out of town, the cat is diabetic), come back here, and am now eating oatmeal. Very festive.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Yay for a good night, Juliana. I hope tonight is as well.

What is even happening?

My own Christmas Miracle: A member of my family got me jewelry I really like!
Heh.

Yay! Merry Christmas, juliana.

Merry Christmas and since I doubt I'll be around at sunset, Happy Hanukkah.

Oops. I hear crying. Gotta run.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

And...the pies are still in my trunk. Found my mother, who was too lazy to get my father off the beach, so I'll have to call his cell separately.

After I get the pies and start the coffee.

Happy Returns of the Day and the Season, all.

Note to self, read entire sentence.

The post office drama, for those who have been following, has come to a close! I take back everything bad I said about them yesterday, because the mailman just came by to deliver a package. On a Sunday. Which is also Christmas.

It wasn't my Buffista Secret Santa gift, as I'd assumed, but a present from my grandparents who own an antiquarian bookshop. They got me a 1942 Boston Cooking School Cookbook, which is perfect. It's not a first edition, obviously, but it's in near-perfect condition, and I love it so so so so much. (I collect old cookbooks, and this one's hard to find in good condition. The reprints, yes, but not old ones like this.)

So anyway, that's my happy Christmas story. I hope that all Buffistas are having as wonderful a day!

Oh my word. Yes, Jessica, there is a Santa Claus.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

Hooray for beyond-the-call-of-duty mailmen! That sounds wonderful.

We are slounging, and may at some point get dressed. Have talked to both families (who called within seconds of each other. I think they plan these things.) My major accomplishment of the morning: taking the roast out of fridge so that it can reach room temperature. FEAR ME.

Happy Chrismukkah, all!
