Also, I am wearing a skirt that is a sheer flowy knit material over a solid (tighter) knit material. i have had this skirt for a long time.

There is a run in it! Like, a run in my stocking, but in my skirt! It is very strange.

Coding and Sleeping

Just heard something about elections in Iraq and that got me thinking that there is some serious need of election reform here. I still have a hard time believing that the top election official in Missouri could legally stay in that position while running for governer. Also, I couldn't believe that I would mention that to people and they didn't see what was wrong with it. At the very least you shouldn't have a candidate in charge of an election that he is actually in. Crazy.

brillig

I don't know any other meanings it has -- Connie, can you fill in?

From what I gather, "cowboy up!" has its origins in rodeo, from the cowboy climbing up on top of an animal for a bucking competition. I think it's one of those things officials say when it's time for the cowboy to get ready. I'm not sure if it's specifically bull riding or broncos. Its general connotation is to having the cojones to do something tough and dangerous.

(I've learned to talk in "western speak". I've been in The West too long.)

I wish I could just go somewhere to get flensed but none of the whaling ships near me take Medicare.

I remember something about ball gowns for San Francisco Halloween parties, especially.

Good times, good times. I still have that gown. I've worn it numerous other times but am running to the end of that road unless I lose weight. June 2004 I got pressured out by my then-landlord, I've moved twice since then and have lived on a construction site I have no control over for a year. It's been a wee bit stressful and I have thus gained back nearly all the weight I kept off for three years. Grrrr.

Does Hillary H. ever post here? I still think she's my heroine for going to that ball with me.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

I still have a hard time believing that the top election official in Missouri could legally stay in that position while running for governer.

Looks like things are going to be worse in Ohio.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Yeah, but when he was actually on alot of speed and making movies -- weren't they all about nothing? Like, no action?

One of his that I've seen is an eight minute shot of the Empire State Building, on endless loop, with the tape sped up a little bit. Oh, and black and white.

And you know what? It's fucking mezmerizing.

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

Its general connotation is to having the cojones to do something tough and dangerous.

Yup. "Suck it up" is a good correlation. In the non-porny meaning. Although, with Brokeback, it could now be correlated pornily, as well.

'Tis indeed a Spidra. I'm glad to see you.
