Spike's Bitches 27: I'm Embarrassed for Our Kind.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Now tagless for your comfort.

I'm awake and it's 3:25am. I'm up because the entire family went to bed at 8pm because Joe is jumping (out of an airplane) this morning and has to be there at 4am. I'm not really worried for him, but I am just a little bit worried. Of course, the jump isn't until 8, so I've got a while before I know he's fine.

Is this for work? Raq's right--it's much safer these days. My dad made 33 jumps as a paratrooper over 40 years ago and still has great stories to tell (and bad knees as proof). I hope Joe lands safe and sound.

I highly recommend Bavaria, Stephanie! Except maybe not in the winter.

But the snow is sooooo pretty!!!! And Mal's round, rosy cheeks made him totally fit into the scenery. I'm surprised you didn't have trouble getting him back out of the country.

My cousin who shared my due date went into early labor last night. The fuckwits at the local podunk hospital (not her doctor or her hospital) did NOT manually check her for dilation--but sent her home. She returned a short while later, fully dilated and delievered a breech, preemie baby girl. The baby's ok and has been transferred to the best NICU in the state. But my cousin got a ruptured uterus out of it. They'll be transferring her to a better hospital today, too.

Shit's happening to my family and I can't be there and it's starting to piss me off.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

I'm doing what's commonly known as bullshitting, talking out my ass or snowballing. It's great fun!

I've never heard the term snowballing.

Wait, does it mean the same thing as it does in the movie Clerks ? Because if it does - funny.

What is even happening?

Oh my word, Cashmere. I'm so sorry. Your due date is around Feb. 8, right? Your poor cousin. I can't believe she was seven months along, having pains, and they didn't check to see if she was dilated. That's criminal.

I hope she and the baby are all right. Is the ruptured uterus something that can be repaired?

I know we're supposed to talk thread titles in b'crazy, but I wanted to suggest a line that was from a recent Veronica Mars episode. This is a NAFDA thread. B'crazy isn't. I didn't want to have to explain it in B'crazy. If Bitches don't want a line from another show proposed as a title, I don't want to officially propose it. And, if Bitches think it is too crass, I don't want to propose it.

But I really want to propose it.

Here it is:

move out and draw fire

Jeez, Cash! That's astounding. It's like people WANT to get sued.

I had an email at work yesterday that said a colleague had her kid after 55 hours of labor. That's a typo, right? I mean, they'd C-Section or something before that, right?

ION, TM!Girl is not interested. Apparently there's someone else she's sort of interested in right now, so she just wants to be friends. Ah well.

OK, now that she's history I can say this. My firms entire practice is intellectual property and I couldn't stop seeing her as Trademark Girl. For sanity purposes, I'm glad to see her go. t mememe

God grant me the sanity
to finish the the last couple of changes to my paper;
the patience to not kill my tutoring students;
and wisdom to remember to eat.

It's possibly not a typo. My cousin was in labor for, I think, 53 hours. The baby was crowned for much of that time. She absolutely refused a c-section. She was also on Medicaid at the time, and my aunt believed she was receiving sub-standard care.

Art Crawl!!!

I'm with the people who always read that as TMI Girl -- so I'm glad and clearly she doesn't deserve billytea.
