Spike's Bitches 27: I'm Embarrassed for Our Kind.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

oh joy! Oh Rapture ! I have a brain!

Owen may be just like Dad, but oh my does he look like Cashmere in the bathtub picture. Cutie Patootie.

what I want to know is when Laura saw Cashmere in the bathtub. Or was I the only one that read it that way.

everyone made all the cute em comments -- so I'll just say awwwwww.

I never have shopped at Walmart - The one here is Scary dark. I have also given up Target and Sony for xmas. But scince my Target does not have a pharmacy, I don't know how long it will last. It is hard not to go in there. And I have a friend that might be getting a job there. And I think CA is one of the states where they have to make sure you get your perscription filled ( and there are two different places with 24 hour pharmacies now). There has been a lot of talk on my egroup about the Walmart movie and shopping there. My thought is that if I can't afford to shop anywhere else, than the amount I am spending or not spending there is not going to make a difference. One of the interesting things is that there are manufacturares that are no longer putting thier product in Walmart. Penefin Oil Finish is one. They are a Ca company and they are no longer selling to any big box stores.

And go go Emmett. I had a feeling once he was at the tryouts he would do well.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

My assistant tells me (with plenty of righteous indignation, for whatever reason) that a lot of the companies like Black and Decker who do sell things like small appliances at Walmart have separate, crappier product lines they use. Dunno if that's true or not.

Our wings are not tired.

Honestly, Laura, I work better with a deadline.

Twas a lame joke. Procrastination R us too, so yeah deadlines help.

what I want to know is when Laura saw Cashmere in the bathtub

I'll never tell.

My cookie making efforts are frustrating me. I may have to close up and turn on the A/C. It is so warm that dough that shouldn't need to be refrigerated is all sticky and gooey. Grrr. All of it in the fridge for a while now.

Now tagless for your comfort.

Before I begin my holiday baking cycle, I'd like to give a small thank you to the makers of self-cleaning ovens. I ran my cycle today and was amazed at the results. I can now begin baking holiday cookies with a clear conscience and a clean oven. Hurrah!

I'm still an occasional shopper at Target. Thing is, they don't always carry every drug--even if it's not related to contraception. I tried to get DH's diet script filled there once and the pharmacist told me they didn't carry Adipex because of problems they had with forged prescriptions. And most insurance carriers didn't cover it anyway, so they stopped stocking it. The turned me down flat without even saying where I should go to get it filled.

I sent my angry letters regarding their policy and hope that enough of their customers do the same. I would hope that they would listen closely to the people spending millions of dollars there. Sometimes, that's all you can do.

I forgot . erica was in my dream last night. Oddly, I was sitting in her lap and we were seriously discussing the merits of various apples. And yelling at cars that were driving to fast thru the park.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

Hi. Skipped a zillion posts, 'cause I've been crazily busy this past week.

One more week of classes. I can make it, right?

You'll make it, Hil.

I just sent out an obnoxious email to the members of my family that I am sending the cookbook to. something along the lines of 'knowing the nature of the gift , but not the full flavor of the contents'

Our wings are not tired.

I'm a frustrated cookie chef. I should have cranked the A/C, but it wasn't hot today. It's about 72 now.

I managed to make 94 of the little almond cookies by keeping the dough in the fridge. I would fill the cookie gun, put it back in the fridge for a while, squirt out a sheet of cookies, then cook them, repeat. That worked out pretty well since the recipe was for 96 and I gave both the boys some dough. I couldn't keep the dough out of the fridge for more than a few minutes though.

The pecan cresent cookie dough didn't give me a hard time so they all are done.

The gingerbread cookies are impossible. I cool the dough until it is rock hard. Roll it out to cut the people. And by the time I get a few cut it is a mess of goo and I can't get them on the sheet intact. I just balled it all up again to try again tomorrow after I turn my house into a walk in freezer. Maybe it's just too humid in here because really not that warm.

Grrr. Tired now.

cookie sheet kept in the freezer to put on the dough after you work on it. Not sure how much it will help, but maybe some.
