That's funny.
'The Killer In Me'
Spike's Bitches 27: I'm Embarrassed for Our Kind.
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
Hi. Skipped a zillion posts, 'cause I've been crazily busy this past week.
One more week of classes. I can make it, right?
You'll make it, Hil.
I just sent out an obnoxious email to the members of my family that I am sending the cookbook to. something along the lines of 'knowing the nature of the gift , but not the full flavor of the contents'
I'm a frustrated cookie chef. I should have cranked the A/C, but it wasn't hot today. It's about 72 now.
I managed to make 94 of the little almond cookies by keeping the dough in the fridge. I would fill the cookie gun, put it back in the fridge for a while, squirt out a sheet of cookies, then cook them, repeat. That worked out pretty well since the recipe was for 96 and I gave both the boys some dough. I couldn't keep the dough out of the fridge for more than a few minutes though.
The pecan cresent cookie dough didn't give me a hard time so they all are done.
The gingerbread cookies are impossible. I cool the dough until it is rock hard. Roll it out to cut the people. And by the time I get a few cut it is a mess of goo and I can't get them on the sheet intact. I just balled it all up again to try again tomorrow after I turn my house into a walk in freezer. Maybe it's just too humid in here because really not that warm.
Grrr. Tired now.
cookie sheet kept in the freezer to put on the dough after you work on it. Not sure how much it will help, but maybe some.
Hmm. I could put my bread board in the freezer overnight and roll out the dough on a cold board tomorrow. That might help.
Calling it a night now. Sweet dreams all.
Do we have an official deadline for the submissions?
Nope. Not yet. More info to come...
Thanks for the compliments on the cover, guys. It was fun to do. The center picture is of a statue of Leda and the Swan in Rome.
Thing is, they don't always carry every drug--even if it's not related to contraception. I tried to get DH's diet script filled there once and the pharmacist told me they didn't carry Adipex because of problems they had with forged prescriptions. And most insurance carriers didn't cover it anyway, so they stopped stocking it. The turned me down flat without even saying where I should go to get it filled.
I've known pharmacies which did not always carry every single drug that could possibly be carried, and every time I have gone to them with a script for something they did not have in stock, the response was, "Wow, sorry we don't have it in stock currently, but we will order it and get it to you ___day." Sometimes they would offer to call around to the other pharmacies in the area, if it was something they felt someone else might actually have in stock. But I have never had an outright refusal to fill.

Yeah, this. I don't expect every possible brand of every possible drug, any more than expect every book in print to be in a bookstore -- but there are ways you can act that show concern for the customer getting their script filled, and ways that are just acting callous about the whole notion of, well, health care.
