Timelies.
Of interest to Jars, and maybe some other folks, the guys from Woods Hole Oceanagraphic Institute gave us a photo mosaic of the 5th Century shipwreck they are exploring. So I've now joined the ranks of the first 50 people to see these casks and amphorae in the last 1700 years.
But aside from bragging, it's really cool. Only 3 classical wrecks have been found/explored, and this one went down in 64m of water, so not a possibility for divers to get to. The robot camera technology is really stunning - the photos are crystal clear. They do have to stitch the photos together by hand, using a combination of Photoshop and Corel, but one of the guys is a professor at MIT, and one of his students said, "You know, I think I could write software that stitches those." And then he did. It's the first non-line based stitching tool, and they'll be releasing it this year.
My grandmother used to say "Everybody's weird. If you don't think they're weird, you just don't know them well enough".
I love that. In fact, I've said that to people, but they just looked at me like I was weird.

That's pretty much all I've got this morning. It's my long day, and I'm not even really dreading it. Go figure.
