[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

re: FluMist--whenever I go to the hospital, it's plastered with signs saying that if you've had the FluMist to wear a mask. Apparently there is a risk of infecting others. I'm not sure if that's only if you're dealing with people with challenged immune systems or not, ie, folks in hospitals, or what, so you might want to check that out.

Our wings are not tired.

Huh. That would be quite the problem if they are giving it free in the elementary school. Like if half the kids get it will the other half get sick?

Flu has not been an issue for my family, but it is a big deal in the area because we get so many tourists in the winter.

I'll research it some more.

Now tagless for your comfort.

Laura, it looks like only people with compromised immune systems are at risk. It uses a live virus instead of a dead one so there is the chance of catching the flu with this vaccine.

People who may not want the nasal vaccine have:

a breathing or respiratory disorder such as asthma
heart problems or a blood disorder
diabetes or another metabolic disorder
kidney problems
a weakened immune system (or live in the same house as someone with immune problems)

Crap. Thunderstorms and tornado watch tonight. FLURRIES tomorrow. If anyone needs me, I'll be hibernating until spring.

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

May I chime in - late, as usual - with the request for a picture of ND in his kilt?

And may I add my appreciation for the adorableness of Lillian - those eyes! that smile!

And, just to throw in something random, these shoes ... I THINK they're shoes.

eta: best of luck in your surgery, Jillli. For what it's worth, I had general anaesthetic in June and came through with the same number of brain cells I started off with. (The friend who escorted me home said I was very entertaining.)

Our wings are not tired.

Hmmm. I think I'm going to have to pass on the boys getting the free FluMist at school. The warning says they should avoid close contact with at risk people for 3 weeks after the vaccine. My mother is 84 and DH's mother is going through radiation treatments for the next 5 weeks. So that's 2 grandparents they should avoid. It could be that if any of us had had the flu in the past I would feel differently. I'll have to talk to them about becoming compulsive about the hand washing. We have another week to decide.

{{chikat}} it seems a little silly to say happy birthday, considering. I hope things get straightened out and I hope the coming year is extra good to you to make up for yesterday.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

I had a dream last night that I gave someone a ring. Maybe it was juliana. I'll have to poke through my jewelry box and see if something needs to belong to her.

I also had a dream I was tightening my corset via the doorknob method. I have no idea why I just remembered that.
