Spike's Bitches 27: I'm Embarrassed for Our Kind.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

Emily, that is so scary. Lots of love to them.

I look more rad than Lutheranism

Emily, I hope everything turns out well for your stepdad.

ION, I officially hate today. Everyone at work seems to be conspiring to demand shit from me every 7 minutes or so, which means I can't get anything finished. Must....control....fist of death....

It's nice to see some brave pretenders trying to make it interesting.

I searched for dried cherries and baking and found several recipes available, as well as a cherry website that says this:

Dear Jane: I have dried cherries and want to make a pie. How do I plump up the cherries.

I would not make an entire pie with dried cherries. You paid a premium to buy the dried product. Use canned or frozen tart cherries for the pie. If you want to increase the cherry flavor of the pie, sprinkle about ΒΌ cup dried over the filling before adding the top crust and baking. Dried cherries are a great addition to other fruit pies and cobblers; there is no need to plump them, just mix in some with the filling before baking. I particularly like to add a few dried cherries to apple pie or peach cobbler.

I think I agree that a whole pie with dried cherries might be too much. I like to use my dried cherries in a sour cherry hazelnut creme brulee. So yummy! Recipe available if interested (also submitted to the cookbook).
