Silence means security silence means approval

The Dover, PA evolution vs. intellegent design trial? Not going well for the intellegent design side. [link]

A former school board member who denied advocating that creationism be taught alongside evolution in high-school biology classes changed his story Thursday, after lawyers in a federal courtroom played a TV news clip that recorded him making such a comment.
...
Buckingham, who led the board's curriculum committee when it approved the policy a year ago, confirmed Thursday that he said during a June 2004 board meeting that the biology textbook is "laced with Darwinism." The clip that was shown later in the day came from an interview that he gave to a news crew from WPMT-TV in York later in the month.
"It's OK to teach Darwin," he said in the interview, "but you have to balance it with something else, such as creationism."

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

OK, I just called American Airlines to get my frequent flier number applied to my flights this week AND the ones I had in March, so I should get a free flight... never, since I don't fly very often, and American even less. Although, apparently I fly American more than I think. Anyway, it's a start.

I've got about 10 different frequent flyer cards, and have never yet received a free flight.

I used to do really well when I lived in Washington -- I flew between there and Boston a lot, only on USAir. And they were giving bonuses for booking online and whatnot. That rocked.

ita, I'm with Trudy on the cancellation thing. It can't hurt to try. Fainting is not necessarily considered important medically, but given your problems with migraines and otherwise good health, it seems worrisome to me. Part of that may be because even though I know it's often not a big deal, it still seems pretty scary to me. You seem to be taking this more in stride, but I agree that you need your own personal cabana boy, at least temporarily.

I've got about 10 different frequent flyer cards, and have never yet received a free flight.

Are they cancelling each other out? I just use Alaska Airlines. If I fly on another airline (which isn't often because exactly one major airline flies into Juneau), I try to get the miles on Alaska through one of their cooperative arrangements. That said, it was years before I ever actually got a ticket through AkAir. I've had a few lately, though, where the reservations were actually easier to get and more convenient than regular fare tickets. Huh.

And, charging for concerts or charity events, even if they are in a private home, doesn't bother me in the least. I understand the difference with a charity event, but am not sure why a party bothers when a concert doesn't, as it sounds likely that the hostess will not personally profit in either case. Interesting.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

I have a sleeping husband, a sleeping daughter, and a WIDE AWAKE baby boy. I am so not getting grading done. Oh well.

We'll be picking up the car later. My life, she's a wee bit dull.

In my experience, life with young children can't be all THAT dull. I hope the boy is at least wide awake and happy. If you can't grade, you might as well play!
