If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

O holy crap. I think our Chief Operating Officer just walked.

Good Trouble and Righteous Fights

Yup.

Wow. That took longer than I would've expected, though I'm not sure who I would've expected to be the first, given that we haven't had a woman POTUS, both women in SCOTUS are still alive, etc.

Wikipedia really does have everything: [link]

Lying in state is a term used to describe the tradition in which a coffin is placed on view to allow the public at large to pay their respects to the deceased. It traditionally takes place in the principal government building of a country.

Danger is my middle name, only I spell it R. u. t. h. - Tina Belcher.

Just woke up from a 4 hour nap. I had very strange dreams about a secret society behind everything and having many pine needles stuck in my skin. Also, I was sometimes a man, a psychiatrist and I looked like Julien McMahon.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

I note the Zingermans ultimate goodie box doesn't have a price listed -- I assume this is on the theory that if you have to ask, etc..

Guess who was waiting for me when I got home tonight?

Yup, the tortie. She doesn't like being inside though (I brought her into the stairwell for a bit.) But just as friendly, and happy to be in my lap. Sigh. Don't know what I'm going to do...

The local public radio show The Signal is running ghost stories from the area. And later, a reading of The Raven. This is a fun town.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

sara, cats all over the world live outside just fine. What you will do is either call a no kill shelter if you continue to worry or you will leave her be.

have you ever gone to the whole Poe grave thingy? we should do that some year.

I know. Rationally, I know. There's a part of me that's like "she picked me! she picked me!" I mean, ack, I was out on my balcony and she was meowing up to me and looking for a way up. And frankly, were it not for the nursing thing, I would be taking her in for shots and a fixing, and then looking for a home for her. We've got quite the feral cat colony here and I'd love to have a TNR program come in (because it is brilliant for disease control), but I haven't found any interested (and attracting the managements' attention would be bad.)

Have not done the grave thingie. I think it's Halloween when the mysterious visitor comes by and leaves a rose and a glass of wine (brandy?) Either that, or the anniversary of Poe's death. So far, I don't think it's been said who it is.
