Wash: Little River just gets more colorful by the moment. What'll she do next? Zoe: Either blow us all up or rub soup in our hair. It's a toss-up. Wash: I hope she does the soup thing. It's always a hoot, and we don't all die from it.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

Okay, I know it's a callback to discussion a whole handful of posts earlier. But these two, at the top of a page of posts?

I have a bruise the size of a grapefruit on my right bicep.

Love grapefruit.

One of the kinkier x-posts ever.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

Did it make you all sniffly?

I totally cried. And then called my mom.

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

People should talk about their weekends

On Saturday, I was a combatant in Ealdormere's 16th Crown Tournament. I had fun fighting. I have a bruise the size of a grapefruit on my right bicep. No pictures yet.

And John Sweden brings the convo full circle.

On Friday, went out with a friend who'd had a death in the family. She just needed her friends around her. Wasn't melancholy, just supportive.

Saturday, went to my 23 year old friend's house party. Quite reminiscent of college parties. It was his first big party and he was very excited. It was so cute. I even was the only one sober at 3AM when there was need for an emergency beer run :)

Always Anti-fascist!

Slow typist, although I guess I could clobber JohnS, too.

move out and draw fire

I heard from my friends in Pakistan, and they are okay, although their apartment was somewhat damaged. I also heard from my niece, who is moving to Oregon ("It's so expensive! And it's so wet! We haven't gotten out to do anything because it's been rainy and gray."). I cooked a lot, and gamed a lot, and wrote a Ranty McRantypants piece about the US gov't and Avian Flu (synopsis: Soft on Katrina, Hard on Avian Flu, more people die of AIDS and regular flu than avian flu, yadda).

That's about it. It was a good weekend.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

Saturday I spent a Kohl's gift card that my folks gave me. Nothing terribly glam (except for some earrings that are rather nice, but don't show up on their website). Sunday I spent reading up on New England.

I'm pretty sure I did more than this, but I switched from coffee to tea starting Saturday, so it's all kind of blurry.

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

Weekend:

Saturday: Was lazy. Watched ER episodes. Took nap. Wnet to Salvation Army and bought sweaters. Went to theatre and aforementioned FOUR watch repair shops. Came home. Watch more ER

Sunday: Was productive. Cleaned living room, alcove, bathroom and hall. Tried to turn heat on unsuccessfully. Went to Target. Watched West Wing. Went to bed huddled with cat for warmth.

Good Trouble and Righteous Fights

Good news for Doctor Who fans:

Captain Jack! Wheee!

Short of more 9th Doctor or going to some alternate reality where Firefly runs for seven seasons, I can't imagine happier TV news.

Silence means security silence means approval

You should try tangerines and tangelos - they peel more readily and have less membrane.

Best thing about tangelos -- the knob on the top lets you peel them without having to use a peeler or knife.

I loved tangelos when I was a kid, but they're strangely rare in Seattle groceries.

How about, "Now that we have replaced the TiVo and picked up a relatively inexpensive DVD recorder in the process, you can dump Doctor Who to DVD easily instead of losing all the episodes to a redux of the Yom Kippur TiVo Disaster?"
