Well, that's annoying. I was waiting to buy mine until after the new release, because I figured the price would drop a little. (I think the old 60GB was $379, but I could be wrong.) Actually, my coworker (who is generally In The Know about Apple products) came by my desk today to tell me that the price on the old models had dropped to $300, so I got all excited, but now I can't find them anywhere on the site. bleh.

Thanks! I knew I could count on you all. Although, the idea of buying a previously-owned piece of very expensive and maybe kind of delicate hardware makes me a little nervous. People here have had good luck with refurbished Apple products, right? Will explore options tomorrow.

World's oldest noodles unearthed:
The remains of the world's oldest noodles have been unearthed in China.
The 50cm-long, yellow strands were found in a pot that had probably been buried during a catastrophic flood.
Radiocarbon dating of the material taken from the Lajia archaeological site on the Yellow River indicates the food was about 4,000 years old.

And definitely call the Apple store. And if they aren't willing to sell them, call other stores that carry them. I know Costco had them for $379 last time I looked (over the weekend).
