Because books.

Nobody else has the sitcom theme song love? It's like I don't even know you people any more.

When I would run out of songs to sing to the kids when they were babies, I used to sing The Brady Bunch theme, and sometimes the one from Gilligan's Island.

Ah. I see. Well, I think it is sweet that you do stuff to ease her worries.

(Me, I'd lie. But then, me and my grandmother were rather at odds a lot of the time.)

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I would lie too. I would lie to my parents also.

and maybe I make these promises to her because I am at ill at ease and do not realize it....A string of sirens just went by our building, honking horns and blaring and everything in my body started going faster.

What is even happening?

My sentimental love is reserved for cop show theme songs.

Aren't they all instrumentals?

When I would run out of songs to sing to the kids when they were babies, I used to sing The Brady Bunch theme, and sometimes the one from Gilligan's Island.

You could download them, legally, right now. In fact I am listening to the Gilligan's Island theme right now, aifg. When I was babysitting my cousin's baby (before I was a mother) and ran out of things to sing, I would sing Springsteen's Thunder Road.

Oh, dear me. The Charles in Charge song is every bit as cloying as I remember it.

When the boys you used to hate you date / I guess you best investigate / the facts of life...

Oh, now Julia's dancing to the Fresh Prince theme. Cutie.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

I can see me taking up krav sooner than I can see me following behind a dog, bearing a pooper-scooper and plastic bag. That leaves me with getting a cat.

See, I'd much rather deal with it outside than in my house.

Now I'm all Welcome Back Kotter earwormed. Not that that's a bad thing.

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

Oh, now Julia's dancing to the Fresh Prince theme. Cutie.

Good lord, I remember all of the lyrics to that. Why????!?

I don't know, but is that a problem?
