Oh, the poor little gothling. She sounds so sweet and bright, and to be dragged on a tv show and humiliated like that is NOT what she deserves.
At the very least, "We don't like this and we don't understand it but as long as your grades are good you can dress how you want." is a bargaining chip. Duh.
And it's great bargaining chip! I don't understand why more parents take that route. But then, I also don't understand why some parents completely flip out when their kids don't want to be like everyone else. Gaaah.

Neither do I. Which means Annabel will probably be effortlessly popular and happily conformist, and will rebel against us by joining the Young
Republicans.
I think they reconciled whatever needed reconciling while visiting the islands, because they were both happier and getting along when they came back.
Mykonos is magic I tell you... I am glad that you have house back too.
Poor little babygoth.
I am very sad about this.
I am not on any drugs right now. I am trying to see if I can wait until 1 to take the flexeril (or until there is even a twinge of something new) and get an idea of where my back is.
I also want to get my brows waxed but I think the place I go will be closed. This is feeling very 4th of July to me. I should call them.

We keep saying this about Mallory too...although he'll probably just rebel be being apolitical or apathetic, and a jock.

Hopefully it's still in the same place, otherwise your clothes are going to hang funny.
I think the DH has used all my Ambien, of which I took exactly none. So tomorrow is me trying to figure out what it's called here to buy some more. Right now, it's bedtime. G'night Bitches!
Hivemind cookery question:
I want to make blackberry jam. Should running the jars and lids through a dishwasher cycle be as effective for sterilizing them as my old technique of pouring boiling water from the electric kettle over them?

Apparently my brain off drugs, not much clearer... D'oh!
I shall not get my brows waxed today, they are closed.
I don't know nothing about sterilizing jars for making jam, sorry Susan.

Dear, if you run the lids through the dishwasher they won't seal properly.

The National Center for Home Food Preservation says no:
Before every use, wash empty jars in hot water with detergent and rinse well by hand, or wash in a dishwasher. Unrinsed detergents may cause unnatural flavors and colors. These washing methods do not sterilize jars.

You still need to boil them after washing.
Dammit. Sterilizing is more work than making the actual jam. If I hadn't already promised several people jam in return for various favors, I'd be tempted to forget about it this year.
