Spike's Bitches 26: Damn right I'm impure!

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Now tagless for your comfort.

Aimee, I think babies start to top out at around 32 oz. a day in formula--when they get in and in what amount, doesn't matter. Some babies take a little less, some more. Babies have that magic self cut off mechanism that we lack. They'll eat/drink as much as they need. Once they move on to mostly solids and switch to whole milk, I think the magic number drops to 24-28 oz.

I'm shopping for a winter coat for me and Owen. I think I may need new boots this year. Does anyone know if the Midwest is expecting more or less snow this year?

What is even happening?

You keep saying this "useless" thing. I'm not gonna return him! It's for the warranty!

Sweetie, someone should have told you by now, and I'm sorry the Bitches let you down. The warranty? It's a total bait and switch. You've seen how broken my dh has been this summer. I'd be sitting pretty if the warranty had any teeth.

Thanks. I can reassure Joe tha I am not after starving the baby.

Aimee, does she have bottles with the meals/snacks as well? I'm not clear on how much she's having. If she's only have three bottles a day and only taking 6 ounces at each, I might double-check with the pediatrician. It's not a freak out thing, but they might think the formula is more important than the solid foods. It's been a long time for me though, and nutritional advice changes.

I've bought three different pieces of clothing from Soft Surroundings. One is workout clothing; the other two get compliments *every time I wear them*. They feel as good as they look.

They have a Web outlet, and the prices are much less painful there.

Oh, my.

Hmmm...I missed a bottle in there somewhere. But no, she doesn't have formula with her meals. She usually has water.

Grrr. ND loaned me a digital camera, because the only way I'll be making any money at all this month is to sell a bunch of stuff that I have, which is made much easier and more likely when you can include a picture of said item.

Unfortunately, ND didn't have the USB cable that goes with it. I thought I had one, but it's the wrong kind. This is making it difficult enough that it's not really worth it.

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

Thanks for the punctuation earlier today, y'all. I'm doing okay, but it sneaks up on me at random moments.

Meanwhile, I'm waiting for word on what we're doing in lieu of a funeral. That side of the family doesn't do funerals. There has been talk of going out to brunch.

And yes, this is the same side of the family that let me know about my grandfather's death by leaving a message on the answering machine.

So you're giving her abou 32 ounces and she's taking at least 24 of it? I think that's probably okay. It's the kind of question I think you can wait to ask, when she has a regular check up.

When I was worried, I actually kept track for about 3 days, just to make sure how much I was preparing vs. how much he was drinking. It's easy to lose track when you're busy, have two people doing the feeding and have the baby in day care part of the time. I'd just try to keep a log--including asking the daycare people to log how much she actually drinks--if you're still worried.

When O switched to whole milk, I actually used a 28 oz. container and poured from it for a day to check. He was usually spot on. We tend to get a lot of waste, though--He doesn't always drink what I pour. And I'm a freak about not putting a used portion in a sippy cup back in the fridge because of the bacteria. I was the same way with formula (even though that shit is EXPENSIVE).
