I was going to come in with my own story, where I didn't cancel plans to go see a local swing band with friends the night after my Grandpa passed away. It had just been such a long, hard road up to that point and my brain needed to be able to focus on SOMETHING ELSE for a while. Sometimes, you really have to take care of you.

Oh, not one bit.
I'm tired, but left work at a decent hour, and really want to go see a friend's band play.
Meanwhile, am going to work tomorrow, and we are all playing a mean mean trick on my boss--it's going to be crazy tomorrow, and we're all planning to call in with various excuses throughout tonight and tomorrow morning before she comes in, so she'll arrive to like, seven voicemails saying "I'm really sorry, but I can't make it in...". And then we'll all show up together. We were considering feeling guilty and not doing it, but then she wanted to play just as mean of a trick on another coworker, so we decided it was ok. And we warned her boss. Who laughed her ass off. Hee. Then we all went out for margaritas. Tomorrow, after the working, we're having crabs.
In short, the working? sucks, but we're making the best of it.
