Hey, evil dead, you're in my seat.

Spike's Bitches 26: Damn right I'm impure!

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

True, and life expectancies used to be shorter for people than for goldfish.

Very true. But I imagine that meat-borne ickys were more cumulative than 'take a bite and drop dead' or no one would have eaten the stuff at all.

You can't leave me to my own devices; my devices are Nap and Eat. -Zenkitty

Well, people also used to eat a lot less meat.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

Also true, though if one makes a habit of letting meat go bad, that's not necessarily of much comfort. Plus, y'know, you don't have to be dead to experience the regret of unfortunate meat choices.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Just for the record, my father-in-law buys frozen ground beef in tubes. It's very disturbing. I like my styrofoam, thank you.

We would get our hamburger that way whenever we payed someone to butcher a cow or a heiffer. We'd end up with this huge freezer completely full of hamburger and steak.

Huh. I just read a Yahoo! headline as saying "Leahy to Back Robots for Supreme Court Justice."

Meanwhile! Brendan has bought the first three seasons of Blake's 7! We watched some quality sci-fi last night, let me tell you. Blake and Avon, the original Odd Couple! Brian Blessed as a power-hungry theocrat! Was there shouting? Do you really need to ask? THERE WAS SHOUTING! The scenery was riddled with the ample bite-marks of the Blessed.

Oh, and I'd forgotten about their marvellous teleport effects. How could I have forgotten?

Director kept trying to explain that if she wanted to become a psychiatrist, then she'd have to go to medical school, and if that was the case, then she's in the wrong field right now - she should be studying science.

I expect that vw’s coworker is genuinely confused, but I’ll mention that these days Psychology is a popular major for students planning on med-school, particularly for women students and those planning to become psychiatrists. There are still prerequisites to take in other departments, but that is also true if you major in Biology or Chemistry. Psychology in a research university is all about brains and genes and cognitive functioning, so it’s a better match to med school than it was thirty years ago.

That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

I wanna have supper at beth's house.

X-posty with Natter:

Just got off the phone with my mom. My brother, his wife, kids and dog left Houston at about 5pm today and are headed to my parents' house in Memphis. Very happy to hear that. Safe travel~ma to them.
