Just got off the phone with my mom. My brother, his wife, kids and dog left Houston at about 5pm today and are headed to my parents' house in Memphis. Very happy to hear that. Safe travel~ma to them.

Adelaide is further west than Melbourne, they're essentially both on the south coast. About a 10-hour drive, were one to be driving. Faster by plane, obviously.

harvey woke me up at 6:30. he feels that it is mealtime. i feel that he can call the animal cops for all the good it will do him. i bloody ain't feeding him this early, not for nothing.
Apparently I want angel hair pasta served with the soup I made the other day as a sauce. For breakfast.

Meat/spoilage/kill ya thoughts: (whitefonted in deference to vegans and vegetarians who made choice to avoid theses facts for a reason) meat Back In The Day wasn't processed to the extent it is now, what with the antibiotics and potential cannibalism of meat farms, on the scale it is today. Though, you know, commercial animal slaughter was never really a genteel art, as The Jungle was written in 1906.
But, really, we seem to be dealing with a lot of stuff that goes beyond the basics of raise an animal for food, kill and animal for food, sell an animal for food, these days.
