A year and a half ago, I could have eviscerated him with my thoughts. Now I can barely hurt his feelings. Things used to be so much simpler.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

What is even happening?

There was nothing to the dirt cake, take a half-stick of butter, an 8oz block of cream cheese, and a cup of powered sugar. Mix that stuff all up into a cream, then add three cups of milk, two packages of instant vanilla pudding, and a tub of cool whip. Smash a whole bag of Oreos, use half to layer the bottom of a 9x13 pan, pour the mixture over that, cover with the remaining Oreos, and refigerate for many hours.

My old boss made a version of this for her family Christmas party, for all the little kids. I think some of the ingredients were different, but Oreos featured prominently. She'd buy new pails and shovels, and make it in there. She also included Gummi Worms, for dirt realism.

Not even for eating the richest, densest flourless chocolate cake.
That's a wise choice. I'm pretty sure it would produce few crumbs.

Because books.

We just saw two completely black squirrels in our yard. I've never seen anything like that before. I think they may harbingers of evil. Which, not surprising up here.

Art Crawl!!!

I will try to send the recipe tonight or tomorrow. . . will be tricky as I won't be home.

Amyliz - where I used to live in Gaithersburg, MD, there were whole families of black squirrels. A melanistic phase of the gray squirrel. I love how they always look like they are in silhouette.

I seem to remember seeing a lot of them in Chicago, unless I'm thinking of the brown squirrels. I have seen black squirrels here once or twice, but we primarily have the plain old gray ones. They never bothered me until we moved to this house. We moved in, in October, of a big acorn-producing year and the yard was always full of them, which made me recognize their rattishness, and made my skin crawl.

Oh. It's more fun to think of them as evil, though.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

I saw a white squirrel in Minneapolis once. And just a few weeks ago I saw a black squirrel in southern Wisconsin.

love's a dream you enter though I shake and shake and shake you

harbingers of evil

In my skimminess, I misread this as "haberdashers of evil."

For the record, they'd be welcome in my backyard. I need better shoes.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

sj- how are things on the Dave job front?

He hasn't heard back yet on the job he really really wants yet.

Gronk. Dave tossed and turned all night, and kept me awake and then we way overslept. So much to do today.

Now tagless for your comfort.

I saw a white squirrel in Minneapolis once

We have some albino squirrels living on the same street as the governor's mansion close to my house.

Good Trouble and Righteous Fights

I once saw a deer with what for all the world looked like Appaloosa markings (the blanket with no spots pattern). It wasn't so much a whitetail deer as a whitebutt. And yes, I'm sure it was a deer and not a horse. Country girl, me. I can tell the difference. And there were multiple witnesses.
