Happy Birthday Phoenix Board! I never thought I would regularly post on any board, but I'm so happy this board was started and that I found it. You guys are the best.

btw, my gf's birthday is today too. We are going for a spa day Tuesday to celebrate.

Very nice. I went to the farmer's market and ran errands with my friend A., and now I am hanging out with Kat and Lori until it is time to go have dinner with lots of people. Tomorrow is Roscoe's and maybe seeing Robin and/or ita.

I feel very lucky to get to spend time with so many friends.

I was going to get some clothes mailed to Texas today, and didn't make it to the post office. I fear that they will probably not get out until at least Wednesday now. But it was raining and I'm not yet dressed in clothing that can be seen in public. I also postponed sale shopping at the tourist shops for Christmas presents until after church tomorrow, because I am lazy today. However, I did stir myself enough to make a really yummy breakfast of eggs with sausage and onions stirred in, with this oatmeal stuff on the side. I used to made this stuff when I was younger, and clearly have forgotten how, as it didn't stick together as it should. Tasted good though. Then, microwave nachos for lunch. Plus, I actually made coffee today, which doesn't usually happen when I'm home. Still have to clean though, to keep today from being a total loss.

Yay for good friends, Perkins. That sounds like a lovely birthday celebration.

Libkitty, me too. I never met a posting board I liked, until this one.

I feel much better. I went and spent way too much money on groceries, and some stuff for Kara's "real" (vs. family) birthday party tomorrow at the park.

Some of Nick's friends are coming, and Greg's brother, sister, spouses and children. We went with grocery store Strawberry Boston Cream Cake rather than me trying to make something with dinosaurs on it, and Kara picked out candles in the shape of tools to go on top.

I also bought one ball for each kid to kick around in the grass rather than a bunch of plastic party goodies that will end up broken. Fruit punch for easy drinking and fruit to chunk for those who don't want cake and Aidan, who can't have it.

Now I just have to feed everyone dinner before they keel over from starvation and I'll feel like I accomplished the important stuff today.

One of the facts of life is that the person who pays the rent gets to say, "My roof? My rules."

When you're on the speaking end, it's actually a joy to say. I know; I said it (with probably an indecent level of glee in my voice) to my own mother, just last week.

When your mom has to come stay with you all day, you can make her smoke pot, okay?
