I've tried to march in the Slayer Pride Parade ...

Spike's Bitches 26: Damn right I'm impure!

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

~~anti-cramp-ma~~

All of my nails are splitting, and I can't tell if it's because of (a) stress (b) lack of [insert nutrient here] in my diet, or (c) bad reaction to the cheap nail polish I'm wearing. Most likely a combination of all three.

I'm also having a bad lunch week. I haven't been in the mood to eat ANYTHING, so by the time I work up the energy and force myself to go out ('cause not being in the mood to eat != not being hungry, damnit), nothing's serving but fast food places. It's a bad bad cycle.

And Launchcast won't play Cool As Folk without my jumping through hoops to prove I'm not in the UK. (Which makes no sense to me, as it's INTERNET RADIO. Why should it matter where I am?)

Nana korobi, ya oki. (Fall down seven times, stand up eight.) ~Yuzuru Hanyu/Japanese proverb

Soothe~ma to the people that are closer to the earth right now. One of the benefits, for me, of perimenopause is that my cramping is much less than it used to be. Not sure it's true for all women.

On the other hand, the nightly hot flashes have resumed and have been waking me up at 3:30 in the morning every day for the past week. Argh. I'm finding it harder and harder to get up in the morning. And when I get up as late as I did today, I have no time to make a breakfast or lunch to take to work and end up buying them from the deli which costs me money. Damnit.

Yeah, tight toe diamond shoes, unite!

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Harvey now reserves 80% of his cute for Daniel. 75% of the remaining cute is directed at me specifically while I am eating, in the hopes that I will share.

Heh.

Considering how much I used to wish for a break from Harvey, I shouldn't be this jealous ;-)

Art Crawl!!!

Nora! I'm so sorry I missed wishing you a happy birthday -- but I hope that you had a good one.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Jess & erika, I spent an entire workday in a training session with bosses and HR people getting our annual compliance check-off for not making the company liable if we screw up EEO, ADA, FMLA or other work discrimation biz. I mention you two specifically because I inquired about California protections for Wicca/Pagan under protected categories (it is. The only test is whether the religion is a "sincerely held belief." Jen will be happy to know that Atheism is also covered under the religious protection. That is, it can't be a deciding factor in a work decision), and ADA accomodations.

And just for the girls-who-like-boys-in-eyeliner contingent I checked to see if transgender people were covered. And, in fact, they are in California where "Gender Identity" is a protected class. Which means you can't not-hire a guy for showing up in drag, or a drag-king who shows up in a work appropriate suit.

Then we played a game of HR Jeopardy (just like the TV game) and I lead my team to the most point total as we entered Final Jeopardy. Where I lost, but still got a free Starbucks card for my explanation. (Which had to do with "reasonable accomodation.")

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

I sincerely believe in Flying Spaghetti Monsterism. Now I just have to move to California to get Fridays off!

Thrive to spite them

David, that's kind of interesting.

I'm in a mad scramble to get everyone who hasn't already taken a training class into the class. There are limited slots available and this morning there were 3 classes, now there are 2. I had to pull teeth to find out which of our people need to take this.

I was informed that even though I'm not a permenent employee I'm still eligble for all of the training classes that non supervisors are eligible for. There aren't many choices, but I'm doing all the training I can. I think that will impress my supervisors and help justify making me a permenent employee.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

Shutting your thumb in the hatchback of your minivan so hard that the damn thing latched.

Owieowieowie!!!! {{{Aimee!!!}}} Unfortunately, I know of what you speak having once slammed the tip of my middle finger in a car door once. And it was locked.

All the 2nd wind vibes you need, Nora {{{{{{

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

It's Friday, and payday.

I get my very first paycheck today!!! Those meager hundreds of dollars are mine!

Gris, that sounds both awesome and sucktacular. I don't know what to say. Possibly because I am hungry and need lunch.

Aims, that just sounds sucktacular. *kisses your thumb*

Nora, may you live in less interesting times.

Susan roooooooocks.

Our wings are not tired.

Ouch Aimee! Itty bitty frozen kisses to make it better.

Mmmm cookies!

{{Gud}} I hope you are able to have productive communication while smelling the roses this weekend.

So, Crush!Girl definitely likes me.

Yay! I am sympathetic to the conflicts, but enjoy the moment.

{{Nora}} I hope you get a nap before more drama.

The same damn thing has happened to me. Like suddenly. I don’t know what is up. My only clue is that I have been very negligent in taking my vitamins the last couple months.
