Willow: Something evil-crashed to earth in this. Then it broke out and slithered away to do badness. Giles: Well, in all fairness, we don't really know about the "slithered" part. Anya: No, no, I'm sure it frisked about like a fluffy lamb.

'Never Leave Me'

Spike's Bitches 26: Damn right I'm impure!

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Hey. New board.

Cute AND fuel-efficient.

Okay, that's bad.

If I only had a brain...

. Looks like I'll probably be taking the Research Assistant position that I was offered yesterday and letting down the Center for Women in Politics and Public Policy.

You are a job hunter. You are not letting anybody down.

Turning down != letting down. Letting down is when somebody was entitled to depend on you. Somebody who is interviewing is not entitled to depend on you.

move out and draw fire

I have no energy, or I would send you some, vw.

Here is how much energy I don't have: the church about 5 blocks away is having some sort of shindig, and I am pretty sure that I saw Mary and Jesus icon snowglobes for sale at one of the stalls...and I don't have the energy to walk over and buy one.

I may be dying.

So, then, why does it feel so shitty?

Always Anti-fascist!

Because they get all excited and tell you you're great as they're offering? Or possibly because culturally we still don't accept "No," as a complete sentence? Thoughts?

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

vw, remember, the job you don't take goes to someone else who has interviewed and is sitting waiting for the phone to ring and is going to be very happy to have it. Nobody loses here.

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

what made you choose one job over the other?

Do you feel shitty because this will be the second time you've said no to this position?

Well, I haven't *totally* decided yet. But, it looks like (from my Pros/Cons list) that I'll probably take the research assistant position, because it's in my field and will probably help me get into grad school.

Do you feel shitty because this will be the second time you've said no to this position?

Nope. I'm probably saying yes to the one I said no to before.

I feel shitty, because the woman is possibly *creating* a position for me, and I'm going to probably turn that down. I feel like I'll be majorly burning a bridge.

but... but, the bridge of the job that will get you into grad school and in your field is a more valuable one.

I really don't think you are burning a bridge. If you accepted the offer, and then reneged, then, yes. But, I don't think you have anything to feel guilty or shitty about. I know you *do*, but... in the big picture I don't think you need to.
