Spike's Bitches 26: Damn right I'm impure!
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
I bought one of the big containers of whole peeled garlic cloves recently and have been including mass quantities of garlic in everything. Yum.
My new favorite timesaver is pre-sliced mushrooms. Perfect for scrambling into eggs or sauteeing for pasta, and pretty much no effort at all.
Butter in pan, mushrooms, salt and pepper. Throw in some spinach. Crack some eggs over them and scramble. Toss in some feta. Bliss in five minutes.
But if you have an egg slicer it takes about a second to slice a mushroom.

I don't doubt this is true. However: (1) I don't have an egg slicer. (2) That's one second per mushroom and could easily get to half a minute in no time. (3) Presliced mushrooms are already sliced. No seconds of slicing are involved.
Those are three very good points.
But you should still get an egg slicer! They are the cool.

I think I want to get cunning little egg cups first. And those little snippy egg-top scissors things for soft boiled eggs.
If we're talking about egg related kitchen accessories.
JZ has been fed and now she is entubulated.
I put in the restorative Kniepp hops/herbal bath and lit her candle. She's reading The Mammoth Book Of Pulp Fiction and drinking fizzy water.
Presliced mushrooms are also prewashed.
Two steps saved in one! Plus, most places I shop, they're the same price per pound as unsliced, or as near as to make no difference.
Yeah the prewashed factor is a good point. I am a lazy cook.
Matt is the tub. but with scotch, not fizzy water.
