That's insane troll logic!

Spike's Bitches 26: Damn right I'm impure!

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risque (and frisque), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

You deserve an easy A.

It's your class reward for doing so well in all the actually tough ones.

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

{{{vw}}} Meds, nap, and then call Nora and have her come over and feed you cookies and such.

If I only had a brain...

Sometimes a nap helps a lot, VW.

There used to be a doctor's rule of thumb that a woman couldn't get her tubes tied unless her age times the number of children was over 120.

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

It's far from the first time I've heard of doctors refusing to do this, but it always sounds so wrong; smug, paternalistic, infantilizing of the patient.

It is strange. I suppose if we pushed we'd be able to get something done. But my doctor said, "the Nuva Ring is reliable and inexpensive, right? Is there any reason you NEED to switch to something permanant (or semi-perm) at this time?" And I agreed. Even though I don't want kids, making a choice to NOT have them seems like a big commitment. (that's more the vasectomy vibe)

My doctor says she's seen women go on the IUD and regret it because they changed their minds later and had difficulty conceiving. I don't know. I changed the subject quick because I do like her in many other ways.

erika, I saw this in the paper yesterday and thought you'd appreciate it:

"The death of a 45-year-old lawyer discovered in the trunk of a burning car is ruled a homicide."

It's just ... was there any doubt?

Ann, that's a ferret.

I'm glad you're enjoying biology, vw! I know you were nervous about it...

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

vw, take care sweetie. Insent.

I want kids. It's one of the few things I have never questioned in my life. Lately it has been more about reminding myself that it is going to be a while before I can even consider when to have kids, and talking a lot to my therapist about my fears of not being able to physically care for an infant. He has been trying to convince me that there are ways to adapt to limitations. That being said, I don't get questioning someone who doesn't want them or does want them. What's the point?

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

Nora, if you're looking for something permanent, I've been considering Essure. It's an insert for the fallopian tubes, but it's non-surgical. Of course, a doctor who won't do a vascectomy probably won't put in essure implants either. But it looks like a really cool option.

If I'm ever remotely likely to have sex again I'll be getting it.
