Cool. BTW, Amazon lies (they've been saying it would be out end of October/early November). I went ahead and ordered it anyway.

Good man! Yeah, they had me pegged for Oct. 15, and now it reads Dec. 15. But it might not come out until Jan. (Not to discourage your xmas shopping but there it is.)
Excellent! I just saw that on Barker's blog this morning and was coming here to post it, but, of course, everyone knows by now.

I'm expecting my "your order has been delayed" email any day now (since the other book I ordered to bring it up to free shipping total has already arrived).
My wife pre-ordered both David's book and mine, along with a handful of things that she wanted right away, and got no message about the delay. Nor did she get the in-stock items she wanted right away. Instead, her Amazon invoice says that she'll get everything sometime in late December/early January. She is not pleased with Amazon at the moment.
They are remarkably inconsistent with when they break up shipments. Sometimes they've done it; sometimes they haven't; sometimes
it rains they said they would send it all at once and then sent what they could at a random time. It may be related to what they actually have on hand at the moment.

I suggest supporting your "local" (well, we're all on the same internet) independent bookseller!
My friends' store, Atomic Books carries (and promotes!) the 33 1/3 books, for example. I don't think you can pre-order yet but they will definitely carry them!
Or there's always Powell's.
Oh, I hear, Lisa. I usually buy my 33 1/3 books at Waterloo Records or BookPeople.

I figured you must have some good options down your way but I always like to put plugs in for my people.
