I don't fancy spending the next month trying to get librarian out of the carpet.

I was charmed (albeit somewhat perplexed) by the fannish sensibility of many of the music choices -- it's like the director was trying to vid Canada. --loligo on the Olympic Opening Ceremonies

So - I was packing while I watched and didn't tape - did Jackie tell the Psychic about Lilly? I thought I heard her deny it, but who else would? And Lilly wouldn't actually be pissed about Veronica/Logan - would she?

Jackie said she hadn't. But really, if the psychic lived or worked in Neptune she would know all about Lilly Kane and Veronica Mars and Logan Echolls--Veronica was with Logan when Logan was on trial, after all. So she could've gotten the information from the news.

I honestly don't know if Ghost!Lilly would be pissed. Mostly I think she'd think it was hysterical.

Good point.

That's what I was thinking.

Because books.

See, I don't know if I was just super tired last night, or I'm completely losing higher brain function, but I couldn't figure out if the credit card/psychic thing made sense in the end.

In the beginning, when the psychic tells Jackie her card has been denied, was that a mislead? Like Jackie gave her another one, and had the idea to "get" Veronica?

Help. Toddler is eating brain.

That's how I read it.

Art Crawl!!!

That has to be what it was -- otherwise it makes no sense at all.

One Hot Burrito!

I agree with that. Totaly mislead.

As far as the show turning in big numbers, here's a story. I'm no nielsen family, but last night was the first Veronica Mars I watched on it's original airdate. I watched the DVD's and got the rest of this season out of the way on a friends TiVo. So, I was finally all caught up by the time last night rolled into town.

Hey. New board.

I just watched the episode and boy howdy did I like it. I love me some Wallace, and getting to see HIM be the center is so great.

I love the complicatedness of Jackie's plan. Sure, it's mean, but frankly? Veronica kind of deserves to have her boob-creaming made public. It's exactly the kind of bitchy thing she's done to others, and the brilliant execution makes it wonderful. I feel bad for poor Wallace stuck in the middle of their fight, but I love the fight anyway.

The Lilly stuff - yeah, that was wrong. But I do think Jackie was telling the truth, and that was an addition by the psychic.

But what mattered in this episode was Wallace. His dealing with the dad thing was excellent, and I really like the father's character. I love that he told Veronica off, and didn't go to the dance with Jackie - he'll forgive her eventually (if he comes back) but he made it clear. They have to be civil for his sake - both of them.

Was Jackie under the influence of those pills she took after their conversation at the dance? She seemed to be slurring a lot. Could have just been really drunk, I spose. I felt bad for her, a bit. Why can't everybody just get along?

I also love Duncan. But I always have, at least in a theoretical sense, and it's good to see the writing and acting make it clear why I like him. The guy's a mensch. A mensch with some issues, sure, but he's a good person. He and Wallace are the people I'd most want to hang with, on the show. Veronica and Logan are both too dangerous. It is good to see him reaching out to Logan, though. Very good. And good to see Logan letting him, too - getting over some problems, a bit?

I liked seeing awkward dog girl a lot.

ETA: I'm really glad that Veronica didn't play the recording of Jackie's dad, but I gotta wonder when that whole situation is gonna hurt. She may not use it to humiliate, but will she use it to discredit Lamb, not caring that it hurts Jackie and Terrence at the same time?

Because books.

The Wallace stuff was good, although yeah, leaving with BioDad seems sketchy, and definitely just an I've-got-a-mad-on thing he'll probably regret.

I was wondering about the pills, too, Gris, because 1) what are they? and 2) why take them right before the dance?

I was also really creeped by the Jackie/Logan vibe even before the dance, and have the feeling the two of them are going to be committing some kind of mayhem together.

Sadly, this is the one episode I'd like to rewatch for plot logic, since the whole credit card/psychic thing still seems off to me, but it was the one episode I didn't tape since Lost was a repeat.

Sometimes evil drives a minivan.

Ransom observation: In the opening credits, the drawing that accompanies the actor who plays Jackie includes a bottle of pills. A clue?
