there is something to be said for the lyric and imperial attitude / believe that everything is for you until you discover that you are for it

OMG, David!! I owe you a letter from so long ago that if letters accumulated interest, I wouldn't be able to afford to afford to pay the metaphorical postage on said letter, so large would that letter be. How you doing? I need to stop before I turn this into my own NatterRoom.

sj, Nutty! (both of whom I've seen in their non-font-y forms recently, so they only get 1/2 exclamation point each)

So, Veronica Mars. I'm going go out on a limb and say I like the new hair. Not in a symbolic way; it's just so pretty and shiny.

Kiss me, my girl, before I'm sick.

Ellen!!

OK, so actually, I don't "know" Ellen per se since I don't think we crossed our paths much before, but I vaguely recall a reputation of penetrating wit associated with the name. (And I'm not just saying so because you liked my take on Jackie. Well, not entirely.) Also, everyone else was saying it, so. Baaaa. Anyway. Hello!

As for VMars... I know jack-squat about real estate business but yeah, the whole thing required some hand-waving. My fanwank is that the shareholders of the sham property in Neptune were probably non-local. On a flip-side, Dick Sr. probably sold the locals the fancy non-buildings in Japan and some such, so that they couldn't go out and check out their investments.

Does anyone remember (or did they ever tell us) if Dick and Beaver's mother is still alive?

I think Veronica VO'd that Dick Sr. was "twice-divorced", so I think we can assume Mrs. Casablancas #2 is still kicking around, lavishly spending her alimony (although obviously not for much longer.) Oh! I think we even have a name--During the Poker episode from last season, there was a mention of a "Sadie Casablancas". It's very possible that we may even get to meet her.

"Either it's murder, or this library has a very strict overdue policy."

Never crossed paths with Ellen before, I still feel I must bellow out a loud "ELLEN!!" -- mainly since it seems fun.

Since two of the Casablancas is in the main cast this seasn, I think we can almost count on their family merry-go-round will be the focus in one or two episodes later in the season.

I'm intrigued a little by Jackie just because she IS so like Lily--what I said in (I think?) Vonnie's LJ was that she and Lily would either hate each other and have an AWESOME catfight, or completely ditch Veronica for some crazy wild probably-bad-idea fun.

(Also, i was shocked at how adorable I found the Beav in this ep)

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

I like the idea that Veronica's perspective on Jackie is completely skewed, so I'm disappointed that there's verifiable evidence that she's leading Wallace on.

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

I can't wait to see how Cassidy, Dick Jr. and Kendall will fare now that the Big Dick has gone off, leaving his family in shambles.

I told Mr. Jane last night that all of these kids are going to end up without parent.

Also, I do think Veronica is being judgy about Jackie. Perfectly in character and understandable. She's a lot like Lilly, and yet not Lilly. She's an 09er who's infiltrated her low rent part of her life, and she's probably a little jealous. As far as her being a bitch to her dad, he's a sports star. I'd wager he moved her around a lot whenever his contract was up with whatever team, or got traded.

Hey. New board.

Whoa. That ep was good. (yes, I'm behind as always). I liked it muchly.

I actually didn't like Beaver as much as I have before, just to throw that out against the storm. Still an awesome character, but not quite as awesome as I would've liked, I guess.

But... real estate fraud! That's big business. I totally like it. Plus, Big Dick's walk-and-shred was AWESOME.

Can Cassidy go all Goth and tragic now that he has reason to handstapleforehead? Goth Beaver would rock.

I mean, he's looked like he's wearing eyeliner for most of the season, the least they can do is pander further to my tastes.

Today, I am still liking Jackie, and still will be miffed if they make Alicia into YetAnotherBadMommy.

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

Veronica jumped to conclusions when she saw Jackie with the Random Dude (heh), because she was already unfavorably predisposed toward her. (See? Like Elizabeth jumped to snap-conclusions about Darcy!)

Nice, Vonnie!

Ooh! and Courteney Taylor-Taylor! I loved him too, even though the karaoke scene seemed a bit pointless and he is a huge pretentious cheeseball.

Is that who was singing Love Hurts in that over-extended karaoke scene? A little too meta for my tastes.
