Joss reviews the VM DVDs for Entertainment Weekly
'Underneath'
Veronica Mars: Annoy, Tiny Blonde One. Annoy Like the Wind.
[NAFDA] Spoiler Policy: Seasons 1-3 and the movie are fair game. Spoiler font two weeks for new content presented all at once (e.g. Season 4 on Hulu is fair game as of Aug. 9, 2019). New content presented as weekly episodes may be discussed with no restrictions as it is released.
I am not anti-Veronic/Duncan by any means, but she suddenly had an epiphany to sleep with Duncan? Weak.
Not that weak. since I've know a lot of high school girls that do decide to have sex because of reasons like that.
I love wallace, so glad to see his story. and it was nice that it had the usual VM twist. and if there is any niceness in this girl - he'll find it.
I am way more interested in next week's episode.
So, wait. Washed-up-on-beach!guy was the lighting-candle!guy from earlier in the episode, and not the reporter who talked to Wallace?
That makes the writing-on-the-hand thing even more Twin Peaks-y, to me.
So, the new girl.
Either I think she's pregnant, or I think we're supposed to think she's pregnant.
Really? Why? Just because of the fugly tent-shirt that looks good on NO ONE, regardless of body type but is nevertheless still being pimped by the fashion world? Because I didn't pick up on any pregnancy vibe. Interesting.

Oh, hell yeah. That made sense to me, even though it still gives me Teh Great Big ICK, because I still can't get it out of my head that he had sex with her way back when *even though* he thought she was his sister. Blech.
Though, in general, I'm really surprised at how much I'm not bothered by this iteration of Veronica/Duncan. I'm actually (more or less) liking him, and liking them together.
I'm loving snarky!wounded!Logan, though.
I really think that Veronica is trying to wrap herself in old!veronica, the one who was popular and successful and didn't have a care in the world. Old!Veronica loved Duncan. Therefore...

Yes, this. Thus the initial not-solving-mysteries stance, and wanting her dad to run for sheriff again. She's putting all the pieces back together the way they were before, minus her mom (because she already tried that and failed).
What I love is the way she's slowly getting that you can't "go home again," really. The look on her face seeing Logan come out of that hotel room, the way Wallace was able to draw her into the drug/sports scandal. Sleeping with Duncan seemed almost desperate, as if by taking that step (consciously, on purpose) would cement their relationship, at least.

here are screencaps someone in the VM comm took of the candle lighting guy, the reporter and the washed-up guy.
has anyone else watched the four minutes from the new ep on UPN's site? i don't know why, but it had me yelling "THAT is my SHOW!!!". i haven't really felt that before i watched it. i mean, don't get me wrong. i've been enjoying it, but it hasn't really felt like my show.
Thank God, tiggy.
I felt like my show had returned this week, but not entirely.
tiggy, I'm running out the door, so this is just notice, not a proper thanks. Either the DVDs arrived, or some random woman in your state, who shares your name, is sending me stuff. Thank you thank you thank you!

agreed, P-C. still a few things i had quibbles with, but overall they seem to be finding their stride. not a whole lot differently than last season actually. it took a few episodes for me to fall in love.
you're welcome, Cindy! now go watch and get outta this thread 'til you're all caught up!
Teppy, the conversation with her father (especially, given tv cliches, combined with her whole "bad girl" thing) had that vibe to me. Just the obvious choice (IMO) for "Why you really had to leave". It does kinda seem like a Some Other Show answer, though.
