I missed the first 20 minutes because I was still at work (arg!), I think I picked up everything except who was at that door. I know she hooked up with Logan over the summer, dumped him, and re-hooked with Duncan. I'm just fuzzy as to when the door scene was because if it was right after the scene with Aaron, wasn't Logan getting beat up?
Side note: I love Keith Mars. That is all.
The door scene happened at 3 something am. Presumably long after the Aaron and beating timeframe. Dad managed to get treatment in the hospital, Veronica confronted her mother, Mom took the money and left while Veronica was sleeping.

Okay, so it was Logan, then?
Bloody and beaten, but yes it was Logan.
The whole psycho-teenage-alcoholic thing only loses him a few points.
See, and it took me a second to realize you meant Logan, and not Duncan. Who has emotional drama and rage issues of his own...
The thing about Duncan is, he's nice. He's upstanding, smart, and nice. And he adores Veronica.
Of course that's boring to watch. Nice does not good television make. But it makes much better boyfriend than psychotic jackass, even if psychotic jackass does angst much hotly.
He's upstanding, smart, and nice.
I so disagree. His treatment of Veronica last year wasn't nice.
He never sniped. He called Logan off, when he could, at least eventually. His treatment of Veronica was really
awkward,
and very avoidy, and he should have just come clean about everything from the beginning, perhaps, but that wouldn't have been nice either - he knew Veronica loved Keith, and revealing that Keith might not be her Daddy would have been painful. So, that's a hard decision, and choosing as he did didn't make him un-nice.
Any particular moment you're thinking of as being non-nice?

I understand that her getting back together with Duncan is an attempt to return to normalcy, and the last time she remembers being "normal" is pre-Lilly's death, when she was dating Duncan.
But I can't get past the fact that Duncan is the guy who, when he slept with her all roofied up, STILL BELIEVED SHE WAS HIS SISTER. Just....not enough ick in the world. I don't think I could get past that to get back together with someone.
t edit
I realize that the roofie sex was PRE-last season. I wasn't citing that as an example of Duncan treating Veronica badly last season. I was just citing it as an example of Teh ICK.
Doesn't bother me, Tep. I can see why it might bother a lot of people, but I guess I actually have a pretty mild incest squick. They weren't raised together, he only found out she was his (half) sister weeks before the party, he was on majorly judgment-reducing drugs, they used protection, and he went insane about it afterwards. I wouldn't sleep with my half-sister, but I can easily forgive Duncan for doing so in this case, since I doubt his mind was even processing it as such by any means.
