This isn't a come-on. I'm in a very serious relationship with a landscape architect.

That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

Keep Veronica broken. I'm a Joss/Tim-devotee, I like the pain. I also like the mystery of the week combined with an arching, bigger mystery to solve. The more personal it is to Veronica, the better. More Weevil. More Wallace. More Mac.

What ChiKat said.

And uh, give Logan his snark back, please.

Yes. Yes. Yes.

How bad is it that I really liked Dick in this week's ep?

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Do you feel for Veronica? I'm a watcher, not a fan, and I find her offputting. I don't care about her pain, to the degree where I stop being sure I'm meant to, or that Rob cares if I do. I mean, not sure that he's willing to do any work to make sure I care--he does, and that's what's key.

Not bad at all -- Dick was definitely a highlight. (Plus, his idiocy gave us the Logan - Little Girl God scenes.)

I did in the first season. Second season? Not as much. The first half of this season, not at all. I found her v. abrasive and off-putting. I know others have said the same thing, so I don't think I have much new to add to that.

But, second half of this season, she seems more like the vulnerable girl I got to like in S1. Yes, she has been through absolute crap and that is bound to make a person guarded and possibly cynical. But, I can't relate to someone who is as cynical as she was. I need her more vulnerable and open to hurt and pain.

Because books.

I want Veronica to have to deal with something that really matters to her, like Lilly's death or her mom's disappearance.

I want snarky Logan back, too, and if it's no trouble, I'd like to see him wiht an actual purpose on the show other than emoting and giving Veronica something to behave really childishly about.

I'd keep Keith, natch, and Wallace and Mac and Weevil, and pull back on the secondary and tertiary and ... fourth-tiary ... characters who are kind of amusing but a big distraction.

I'd kill someone like ... Dick, I think. Or no, someone we would actually care about seeing dead. Wait, that's too Jossian.

Death of Mac?

I can imagine the death of Veronica's mom in mysterious circumstances would be very emotional for both Veronica and her dad and make the audience really happy.

What is even happening?

I felt for Veronica in seasons 1 and 2. I really haven't felt much for her at all, this season. I would say the exceptions to that are the last episode of the date rape mystery, and this week's episode.

I think I'd tell him I'd like to see more important plot points on my screen, rather than hearing about them, after the fact. For example, take Logan's interlude with Madison. I could be much more on either Logan's side or Veronica's side, if I'd seen it happen. As it is now, I'm sort of meh about it (although I did like when Veronica got all stalkery of Madison in the previous week's episode).

I think the rape storyline would have been more compelling if it had happened to Mac, or Wallace, or someone we cared about.

I want Veronica to have to deal with something that really matters to her, like Lilly's death or her mom's disappearance.

I would have loved to see Lianne Mars murdered in season 3. She's not an essential character, but her death would have resonated with Veronica. If not Lianne, then Wallace's mom, or Trina Echolls, or someone one of our main characters cares about. I think Rob wanted to step away from murder, but I think that's silly.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

I don't find Veronica very sympathetic this season. In the previous two seasons I really appreciated how intellegent she was, but this season, she doesn't even have that going for her considering recent choices.

I think the Dean's murder could have been one that really resonated with Veronica if it had been done a little differently. I think her finding out about the Dean's recommendation in the last episode is a step in the right direction.
