I got the impression that Keith had some kind of realization after he'd met Landry, since he took the case at that time. So I don't think he was intentionally clumsy in the bar, knowing how it would play out; I think he took the case when he realized that Landry would be a challenging target.

No, I totally think he got something off of Landry that Landry didn't realize he'd given Keith. Possibly the way that Landry called him on his "act" was some sort of tell to Keith.

To understand what happened at the diner, we shall use Mr. Papaya! This is upsetting because he's the friendliest of fruits.
I think it would be out of character for Veronica to care about the integrity of the lab. Veronica has been consistently portrayed as an animal lover, and she's a marshmallow, in general.
Loved this ep, but really, it was hard to not keep thinking about the fact that PETA named Kristen Bell "World's Sexiest Vegetarian" last year. One imagines hilarity ensued on the set. Which cost extra.

Which may explain why PHAT came off a lot less of a shrill parody than the "Take back the night" crew. The fact that there was no x-over between the two groups was a pretty large contrivance to swallow, but of course Veronica would have been busted immediately if there was.

Well, it's a small school - the number of students willing to be an activist is small and liable to be involved in more than one sort of event.
And even if there were no membership x-over, I can't believe that a publicity-oriented group like PHAT would have missed some of the things that have been in the student and local papers concerning Veronica (the failed pot bust, the rapists being identified last episode, etc.).
That said, I liked the episode a lot. However, it was a contrivance I had to handwave instead of being able to fanwank.
