Because books.

I feel like an Ativan and a joint would do me a WORLD of good.

Lately, I feel like this most days.

And I have neither, too. Which sucks.

I look more rad than Lutheranism

Why are we all lacking controlled substances? This isn't right!

What is even happening?

I feel jittery and yet exhausted and also tense
EXACTLY!
I feel like an Ativan and a joint would do me a WORLD of good.
I feel like a glass of wine and a good meal and another glass of wine, and maybe another, and then a nap would do me a world of good. I can get wine, but the rest of it's a crap shoot.

I feel like I used to if I stayed up all, or most of the night. I'm pretty sure I was asleep before 11, and although I woke up at 4, I went right back to sleep 'til 6:30. I also feel like I've had too much coffee and not enough coffee at the same time. Additionally, I feel hung over, without having had a drink (or any of the fun) the night before.

Now tagless for your comfort.

Why are we all lacking controlled substances? This isn't right!

I've been watching Weeds. I blame Mary-Louise Parker.

Woe to the fucking wicked.

Well, clearly, Dick needs to be in a psych or writing class with V, so he can refer to "Sally" wrt serial-killer warning signs, or in a personal essay or something.

I knew that topless lady had something up her sleeve. - John Prine

Not getting an explanation for the Sally reference didn't bother me in and of itself, but since I found the "broken Beaver" storyline unconvincing I regret not getting more backstory. Not that I think any Sally explanation would have made multiple murders (bus & plane) separated by seven months more convincing, but still.

Last night's episode was okay. I'm always happy to see Vinnie, but I hope CC gets a better send off than being shot off screen. (I love CC so I hope that was a mislead & she isn't getting a send off.) I also thought some of the dialogue was too selfconsciously hip, especially the thing about Beaver "Greg Louganis-ing" off the roof (or pulling a Greg Louganis, whatever he said.) Logan can be a jerk, as can Dick, but would he really say that about the suicide of the brother of one of his best friends? And would he be that flip about it to his girlfriend whom the roof diver tried to kill -- and whose father she thought he had killed -- right before his triple gainer? But I'm glad to have the show back & look forward to next week.

I also wonder if the Donald Fagen reference means that RT is a Steely Dan fan or hater. I assumed the former, but then remembered that DF was a thief in the episode.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Heh. I'll bet it's the former. The Fagan name works doubly as an Oliver Twist reference, so.

Woe to the fucking wicked.

joe, Logan was also on the roof, and, really, was the one who wasn't able to stop him. With all the trauma in his life, yeah, I buy it from Logan, as a coping mechanism, if nothing else.

I do believe in killing the messenger, you know why? Because it sends a message. ~ Damon Salvatore

tiggy, thanks for the link. Guess what I'm getting for my birthday next week?!

hmmm...a really expensive tattoo shirt? hee!

What do you think the odds are that the never-explained "remember Sally" comment from Beaver will come back into play with the Dick-maybe-rapist storyline?

somebody in the vm comm on lj actually posted an interview with RT the other day that solved the mystery of Sally.

Excerpt from The Star Ledger interview wtih Rob Thomas:

"There's a strange moment that is never answered and there was no way to answer it but meant a lot to me, where (older brother) Dick looks like he's going to punch Beaver for setting him up with the (male) prostitute, and Beaver warns him, 'I'll get even; remember Sally.' It just hangs there. No one knows who Sally is. We had in our head that Sally was a pet of Dick's that Beaver disappeared after Dick did something to upset him. Beaver has a dark side; he can take care of himself, if you're paying attention. It's tough to get that in there without pointing arrows at the bad guy."

or...what P-C said.

now i'm going to go pass out.

GS: If you had to choose between kicking evil in the head or the behind, which would you choose, and why? Minsc: I'm not sure I understand the question. I have two feet, do I not? You do not take a small plate when the feast of evil welcomes seconds.

I think they would have been better-served using an obvious pet's name, like Fluffy or Duke or Rover (does anyone name their dog Rover anymore?) or something. Made it clear that it was a pet, and thus people not wondering who it was, but more something happened to the pet that makes Dick afraid.
