I'm expecting Veronica's love interest, if anyone, to be Not!Lucky Criminology TA. Because they already have the conflict there of Veronica blowing his previous mystery-solving time out of the water, and conflict is always all sexy and stuff.
Veronica Mars: Annoy, Tiny Blonde One. Annoy Like the Wind.

What do you think the odds are that the never-explained "remember Sally" comment from Beaver will come back into play with the Dick-maybe-rapist storyline?
Zero. Rob's explained that although they didn't plan on revealing it onscreen, they believed Sally to be a pet of Dick's that Beaver had disappeared (i.e., killed), basically just a sign that there was a darker side to the kid.

See, I think that would rule. But, see also: Liked Foyle better than Piz.

Huh. I think my eyeroll sprained something. That's... lame.

Hey! We were eye-rolling simultaneously!
A criminology department, though? @@
I went to a medium sized, state school and we had a criminal justice program (it was sort of criminology/criminal justice). They were mostly just associates' degrees for people who wanted to pursue law enforcement careers. My sister may have enven taken some criminology courses in her pre-law program, but I'd have to double check with her. ITT has a school of criminal justice, too.
But while I could see him raping Parker, I still don't see him shaving her head.
I would think if he did rape her, he shaved her head to throw suspicion. It's devious, true, but the answer to the mysteries on this show rarely have to do with believable character traits.
I just like the idea that we are being tricked into thinking that Dick is too obvious as a suspect, and that the answer is that he's responsible for Parker and the Hearst rapist is a different person-- the tea-sipping RA, the TA, or the criminology professor.
who was the TA? Why was he wearing a wig?
Maybe he has hair issues, and that's why he shaves his victims' heads.

If that ends up the case, though, I will roll my eyes even harder. Dick has been drunk and barely coherent for days (and I don't think he -- the character -- is a good enough actor to pull that off as an act), so that shaving Parker's head to throw suspicion *off* himself -- when he's been *seen* at the dorm, drunk and disorderly -- is too convoluted and stupid to be believed.
Did we ever find out what the outcome of the hooker strealing the defense attorney's (who I love but can't remember the name of right now) briefcase? Was that in service of getting Aaron Echols out of jail?
Yes. I typed this over on TWoP last week, in fact:
Aaron's cellmate got Daphne to steal Cliff's briefcase in order to get the key to the Echolls storage locker, which housed the Oscar that Kendall decorated with Lilly's blood and Duncan's hair in order to frame Duncan for Lilly's murder.
Whew.
