Because books.

I would think even if Dick did this one he wasn't last year's rapist.

But while I could see him raping Parker, I still don't see him shaving her head.

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

I keep getting flashes of "Parker is a Poophead" from S4 Buffy, with this new character name. Dang it.

For no good reason, I kept wondering if it was a shoutout. Especially since both Parkers are into, in different ways, getting laid.

Also, I'm very interested to see how Mac and Veronica behave next episode, since they both know they've made a lot of comments about Parker's revolving door, and "tip jar," et al.

What is even happening?

I don't think Dick's the rapist. I do think we may see a storyline where there isn't just one rapist, though. We already have good reason to believe the rapist is tied to the frat featured in S2's The Rapes of Graff. What's more, Dick's interruption of the "Bring Back the Night" (in the day) Rally looked like a Frat hazing prank to me. So I'm thinking it's likely Dick is being set up as a suspect. He's been seen in the girls' dorm and wouldn't give the R.A. his name. It seems possible, from his convo with Mac, that he'd been intimate with Parker at some point. I don't know. I just think they're going to go there. I can't imagine it's actually Dick though, and if it is Dick, there has to be more than one, to account for last season, because Dick was too busy being skanky with the NHS crowd to even have Hearst on his radar.

What do you think the odds are that the never-explained "remember Sally" comment from Beaver will come back into play with the Dick-maybe-rapist storyline?

I'm also not buying Piz as a love interest for Veronica, at least not from her perspective.

I find it interesting that everyone seems to think that he is for Veronica. By the end of the episode, I don't know why, but I totally got the vibe that he would end up with Mac.

Oh, I don't. He's far too wide-eyed and innocent. No way he could keep up with her, and I can't imagine she would enjoy explaining things very. very. slowly.

Maybe Mac. I dunno.

Hah! Me too but I just chalked it up to wishful thinking.

I'm expecting Veronica's love interest, if anyone, to be Not!Lucky Criminology TA. Because they already have the conflict there of Veronica blowing his previous mystery-solving time out of the water, and conflict is always all sexy and stuff.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

What do you think the odds are that the never-explained "remember Sally" comment from Beaver will come back into play with the Dick-maybe-rapist storyline?

Zero. Rob's explained that although they didn't plan on revealing it onscreen, they believed Sally to be a pet of Dick's that Beaver had disappeared (i.e., killed), basically just a sign that there was a darker side to the kid.
