What is even happening?

I've seen comments that the S2 DVDs won't have English subtitles. I can't figure that out, since the S1 DVDs will. I don't notice it on the above linked site, and can't remember where I saw it. What's up with that, though?

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

Isn't that redundant, if the shows are already captioned for broadcast?

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

I can't figure that out, since the S1 DVDs will.

You mean they do?

Cats to become a rabbit should gather immediately now here

I don't think my Season 1 DVD's have subtitles. Or at least, I can't find them. (I was just trying a couple of days ago.)

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I don't think they use the same text. In fact, I think that closed captioning is for the hard of hearing and assume you can't hear anything (which is why they go into more detail about non-speaking sounds), and subtitles assume you can hear it just fine.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

Were there a lot of subtitles? I guess I don't really notice them as such anymore.

My apartment is right by a loud road, and I watch everything with subtitles and/or closed captioning on. So I always want them on everything.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Not subtitles for foreign languages used on the show, English subtitles to display the dialogue on the screen. Most DVDs have them these days, I think. Except VM S2, apparently.

Freaks and Geeks and Queer as Folk also do not have them.

Freaks and Geeks doesn't have them? Seriously? They have EVERY EXTRA KNOWN TO MAN, and they don't have subtitles? Weird.
