Yes, right before Lucky pulled the gun on the kids at the NHS luncheon courtyard thingie, Jackie asked Veronica why she didn't just go to Hearst, where she could be closer to her dad, and be with Wallace and Mac.

I read the TWoP recap last night. I found it disappointing. I think I mostly felt that way because Couch Baron didn't enjoy the episode. It must be difficult to write a recap that long, when you were disappointed. He didn't like the roof scene, though, and it seemed to me, he didn't mention things I found really enjoyable--like Veronica's, "Ooh! A PONY!"
I think i'm one of the only people on the internet who has never read a TWoP recap.

They don't make it easy. I don't like doing that much straight on reading on-line, so I tend to print-off really long text stuff, but there's no way (that I've found) to get the whole recap in one place, and I hate the amount of pagination they use - 2 or 3 screens worth, ok, but not 13.
If I'm planning on doing my little recappy/review schtick, I won't read them, at least not until after I'm finished with my own stuff. I generally don't read them, because they're so long and detailed, and I've already seen the episode.
I read more of them when TWoP was still MBTV. The first BtVS recap I read was written about The Replacement (two Xanders episode), and I laughed so hard at the description of Buffy's outfit (which was the scariest thing the Hellmouth has ever seen) that I think I busted something.
In general, if the recapper does not love the show (series that is, not episode) and I do, I can't read it. I'm usually fine if the recapper doesn't like a random episode I did, but I'm sorry I read the TWoP VM finale recap, because now I want to write a recappy review in response to it, rather than in response to the episode itself.
I concur that the recaps are too long. It has been ages since I've read the recaps. I literally only read them if I missed an episode - and it is a show I just want to know what happened as opposed a show I watch frequently.
I read each and every Joan of Arcadia recap for its entire (way too short, woe) run. And all of VM season 1, though I've been less thorough about season 2. The love made them good.
I read the early GG stuff too, but when the show started getting worse, the recaps started getting bitter, and I had to stop.
I still love and miss Jessica's X-Files recaps. Especially when the show had Gone To Suck and she was mostly writing about her Mulder and Scully action figures.

That was Jessica, I think, who was guest-recapping. My favourite recapper on the site, hands down, past or present. Even without going back, I still recall the description of Jessia turning into stone *and* crying blood tears at the Neopolitan monstrosity Buffy was wearing in that episode. What was great about Jessica was that she was snarktastic, but she did it with love. Because I was still enjoying S6 and S7, I had tough time taking Ace and Sep's bitterness and usually skipped their recaps.
And... yeah, Deborah's recaps for JoA during S1 were a joy, because she loved the show so much. I still go and reread her recap for "Jump" from time to time (which, for my money, is one of the best episodes of TV EVER) because it's so happy-making.
I haven't read the VM finale recap, but the one who was guest-recapping for the penultimate episode was v. funny.

It was only recently that I figured out that she runs GFY.
I got no problem with the formatting of the recaps. That's how they manage to stay afloat.
