Hey. New board.

Huh. Also. If Cassidy planned on getting away with it (and I see no reason to doubt that) why would he have taken all of Mac's clothes and been generally sociopathic at her? Wouldn't it have worked better to... not?

Mac's pretty scrappy. I think he wanted to be sue she would at least be stuck in the hotel room while he went off to dispatch Veronica.

Hey. New board.

Which no one here believed.

Hey, I may not have said it, but I've believed it ever since he started real estating, at least.

Also, Cassidy has one hell of a scary sneer. For a while, I thought it was mediocre acting. Now, I'm interpreting as deep, underlying psychosis. Which I like better.

I can see wanting to get her not to come after him, but... isn't taking her clothes psychotic enough that, had he successfully killed Veronica, he'd be under suspicion? A lot of suspicion? If he had just LEFT her there, in the shower, it's not like she would have known to go to the roof, and he could have made up some story about needing to borrow her phone to make an important phone call or something.

Maybe knowing Veronica knew about the crash broke something in him -- he'd already failed with Mac sexually, so taking her clothes and humiliating her could have been a punishment. If you're feeling like the world might crash in, you lash out. He might have lashed out anyway.

aka "The artist formerly known as Corwood Industries."

I gotta say, as much of a sinking feeling as I got when I thought Keith had died, I got even more of one when it turned out he was ok due to plot contrivance. If they'd left him dead, that would have actually been the noirest moment in noirville.

That was a generally excellent episode all around, though. I found myself saying "don't care, don't care" throughout all the Jackie revelations, but for the most part, I have to hand it to Cindy and the rest of y'all who called it: nice going.

I do believe in killing the messenger, you know why? Because it sends a message. ~ Damon Salvatore

just rewatched and based on the dialogue, Lamb was in Neptune the whole time and therefore was NOT on the plane.

someone on my flist pointed out this exchange:

Duncan: "CW?" Clarence : "it's a done deal."

HA!

I knew that topless lady had something up her sleeve. - John Prine

If the CW doesn't pick this show up!!! Okay -- I don't know what I'll do -- but !!!

My favorite moment was Duncan's "CW?" Little Rob Thomas shout out to the network? "CW? Is the deed done? Can we come back?"

Surprisingly satisfying finale. I came into thinking, jeez, there are a LOT of major dangling plot threads, but it was a nice job of tying up most of them w/o feeling like they were shortchanged. And I say that despite still having some pretty big misgivings about the Beav resolution. The rampant speculation made it less than a surprise, but even after all the revelations I'm still in the it's-hard-to-buy-him-as-evil-genius camp. Maybe rewatching the season, and parts of S1, will change that, but it's quite a leap from "he was mean to Mac and did something vague to someone named Sally" to killing a busload of people, a planeload of people, and trying to kill Veronica. The rape went a long way toward establishing his mala fides, but that's still a long way from mass murder. Maybe it would have been too heavy handed to have a Logan/Dick exchange along the lines of "Remember when someone let your cat on fire?" "Oh, yeah... Sally" (I guess Beav was involved in the pool torching, wasn't he?) but in the maelstrom of plots that was S2 -- nice to see Mrs. Fennell back, btw -- the set up might have felt more organic. It was a much better tie together than "It's all Summers' blood," but that's a pretty low standard. Looking forward to rewatching, and looking forward to S3.

ETA: I swear I wrote the CW portion before I saw Tiggy's post.

Hey. New board.

You know, I've always liked Beaver too. But when he first came up as a suspect, it didn't feel wrong to me. Still doesn't. Yeah, he's got some really nice qualities. He can be cute, and dorky, and endearing, but you know - sociopathic genius killers are people too. And he's struck me as a tad bit off this entire season. Ever since the expression on his face as his dad ran off, way back when. It was... freaky.
