What is even happening?

Oh!

Why was Weevil following Cervando? Weevil told Veronica he was worried, because Cervando had a big mouth about besting Liam Fitz.

But why follow him on the field trip, specifically?

How would the Fitzes even know Cervando was going to be on a field trip, and if they did, why would they pick that particular time to target him. Surely, they could have gotten him alone, somehow.

Maybe Cervando was getting anonymous threats from Beaver about the field trip, and Weevil knew about them. Beaver's motive for that would have been in retalliation for Cervando threatening Beaver, after Dick ruined Cervando's jeans.

"The fact that we live at the bottom of a deep gravity well, on the surface of a gas covered planet going around a nuclear fireball 90 million miles away and think this to be normal is obviously some indication of how skewed our perspective tends to be."

I have a small problem with the "bomb in the gift basket".

Curly Moran's involvement suggests that the bus was (i) deliberately crashed and (ii) crashed via the method that Curly used for his "Long Haul" stunt.

(i) Would negate any theory that the "bomb was meant for one person and went off at the wrong time".

(ii) I'd like to think that the method is a little more complex than just making sure that there is a bomb *somewhere* on the bus. Placement of the device would be key. That's not the kind of thing you can leave to chance based on where somebody decides to sit with their gift basket.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

We need a list of the bus crash victims and why Cass would have motive to off them.

What's her face who was doing Little Dick - cleaning up after Dick's messes, as he's made mention of in the past.

Cervando - revenge.

Pete n' Marcos - see above speculation.

Veronica - too smart for her own good, and thus a threat.

Betina. Here are all the victims.

1. Ed Doyle
2. Ms. Dumas
3. Betina
4. Rhonda
5. Marcos
6. Cervando
7. Pete
8. Meg

eta...

If it's Beaver, I kind of hope they don't give him a motive to kill all of them, because what are the odds of getting a bunch of kids you have a motive to kill, on the same bus, when the bus must be full of kids who are on a field trip, because they're all journalism students/school paper doobies. It's too much.

I'd rather have whoever the killer is, not care about the "innocent" among the victims. That will be hard to swallow if it is Cassidy, but not as hard to swallow as a perfect combination of victims on a bus.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

1. Ed Doyle

Was once late picking him up and he missed an important test.

2. Ms. Dumas

Was a really crappy journalism teacher.

3. Betina

Cleaning up Dick's mess.

4. Rhonda

Wouldn't go out with him.

5. Marcos

Ye olde child molestation angle.

6. Cervando

Threatened him.

7. Pete

Ye olde child molestation angle.

8. Meg

Too pretty to live. But she wasn't supposed to be on the bus anyway.

See, I don't think they all have to be, but having the additional two could make the rest of them seem like acceptable losses.

The evil is this way?

I guess I'm wondering if the STD was simply there for shock value -- a way to further humiliate Veronica, who has had to suffer through so much already (Lily's death, her mom's disappearance, her dad's ousting from the position of sheriff, the date rape). If so, it's kind of ... stupid.

I had assumed it was so help unravel the molestation story -- if Veronica only had sex with Duncan and he only had sex with her and Meg, then Meg gave the STD to Duncan who gave it to Veronica. Which raises the issue of who Meg got the STD from -- which would be Dear Old Dad, Mayor Woody, Creepy Dad that Meg babysat for, etc.

What is even happening?

Oh, I gotcha. I do think Beaver's intended victims could be Cervando, Betina, Marcos and Pete.

I do have a hard time thinking he'd see Veronica as an acceptable loss. I know they're not best friends, but he seems to like her. It makes me so sad.

That seems most likely, Narrator.

Also, Amy. I don't think it's for shock value only because it was planted so early on in the season--back in NPBiaC.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

I do have a hard time thinking he'd see Veronica as an acceptable loss. I know they're not best friends, but he seems to like her. It makes me so sad.

I'm also not sure he'd be so seemingly carefree around her in the aftermath. As I said, I think I'd have a hard time buying Cass Casablancas, stone sociopath and master criminal.
